We’re back (well not in ST but in CR)

Sophie and Daddy are currently at Avenida Escazu playing on the bouncy and slides. Will just called to tell me about a little 3 yr old friend that Sophie made who played the pointing game just like her and they walked all around the park together pointing at things. He also said that she was sitting on the tire swing at the time with 4 other kids just twirling around. I am missing all these b/c i am sitting in bed of course sick from our travels. I am looking forward to traveling not pregnant and hoping that helps my immune system fight these nasty airline bugs that circulate. Luckily i was only down one evening in NYC with fever and Sophie just battled through any little cough that came her way so we really didnt miss out on family time. I’m thinking im on the mend today and feeling blessed to have such an amazing husband who picks up the slack and takes Sophie out for some fun while i just relax and hopefully finally kick this thing. I dont ever remember having coughing fits like i have had the past 3 nights. Hoping the rest of the Perry clan doesn’t catch this and Sophie and Will remain strong.

Anyway, back to the good stuff. We had a fantastic trip! There were a lot of travel issues along the way but actually most turned out to our benefit. We arrived at our hotel in Chicago to pick up our rental car and find out that they didnt have any left in the rental class we requested so we ended up getting a free upgrade to a luxury car- sweet! Next we drive to our hotel to discover that they overbooked and didnt have a room for us (at 1am in the morning), but Will convinced them to book us in a nicer hotel down the block and they paid for it so we got a free hotel room in a nicer hotel! Then we got to our storage room at our old condo and rummaged through everything super fast so we packed a whole duffle bag of adorable baby clothes for little Sabi. Our flight to NYC from Chicago was delayed about an hour and I’m blaming that delay/sitting on the runway for my illness b/c i read that it is the worst air quality when you are sitting on the runway and they turn the air circulation off. Bleh. Anyway, we made it to NYC and Sophie was super excited to see Nana. Actually she was so excited that she didnt go sleep until 2am b/c she was running all around the apt. Friday Will had a meeting in the city and Pookie obviously slept late so we all walked to pick him up at the train station and get an ice cream cone. Papa came over for dinner and Kiki got back from work and Sophie got to hang out all night with them while I got to scratch off eggplant parm and calamari from my NY preggo craving list. We also had a little ice cream cake for Pookie’s early bday celebration and Papa brought a little princess crown for her that of course she knew exactly what to do with. Saturday she got to hang out with the cousins and she had a blast. Sunday Papa brought over bakery and we all just hung out while Sophie entertained everyone. Monday she had her first trip to the Plainview diner and was a great little lunch mate. We all took her bowling after and it was just precious to see her with her little bowling shoes on. She had a blast, as did I, beating her daddy in the lane next to her!!

It was a great trip full of family time and fun. Even though I loathe being sick, it was all worth it to hang with everyone for a long weekend. I also didnt get my Gino’s ice which I am a bit bitter about. Our flight home was boarded and then canceled but that amazing hubby of mine had an app on his phone so he knew before everyone and got us rebooked on another flight which ended up landing only 15 mins after our original arrival time. He got the airline to send a luxury SUV to take us to Newark airport and they gave us free meal tickets as well. Sophie was incredible during all the travels. I am so proud of her and the little traveler that she has become. She is such a little pro. I’ll have to upload all my pics when we get home. This is actually the first time i have opened my laptop all trip. I’ll catch up with pics and videos this coming week when we are back home and organized. I will also get all the pics of Savannah off her cd. Poor little baby has been dealing with all my coughing lately, to the point that i emailed her dr. b/c i was worried i might hurt her in there, but he said not to worry. Sorry Sabi!! Ok, they are on their way back from the park so we are going to pick up some dinner (japanese- yummmmm). Catch up when we get home tomorrow. XO
