The other morning after we dropped Sophie off at school we decided to go for a quad ride to Cabuya (another town over the mountain about 20 min away). Along the way we say some horses roaming on the road and pulled over to say hello. Sabsy is obsessed with “horseys”. I love rainy season for many reasons (the rivers, the greenery, the quiet town, the awesome storms) and the free roaming beautiful horses are just one of them.

When we made it to Cabuya we found the most amazing river that flowed right into the ocean. Sometimes when i look around i feel like im in a page of “Where the Wild things are”. This was one of those times. The backdrop was insanely beautiful and there were so many different birds flying around us it was straight out of a storybook. We loved it so much that we took Sophie back the next day when she was off from school. She was geeking out jumping in the river and the girls made a little crew of friends. I have pics from that after this.

This was the amazing river we swam in and the moment i looked up and felt like i was in a storybook. That is Will swimming.

Sophie’s school spent a few hours learning from the master chef, Kamila, at Pronto! Ashely and Kamila both took a bunch of pics and were both raving about what an amazing time they all had! The kids were raving about it as well, and Pooks chowed on her pasta made from scratch the entire day. I’m a little jealous that she got to make pasta from scratch and learn to cook from Kamila. Mmmmm it is our favorite food in town. Here are some pics they sent me. Kamila also sent me a message telling me how incredibly awesome Sophie is and that she was her fave kid! She wrote that she is seriously one of a kind and couldn’t get over how her little 5 year old self just fit right in with the big kids and talks to them like a little parent. Oooh sometimes i wish i could be a fly on the wall to observe her in her little crew.

Hmm not sure if this is how you spell it but this little strange fruit is actually quite good- just kinda messy.

And here we are while dada is working and sissy is off with the crew :). Eating carambolas from the tree, collecting snails, playing in the river, and chillin in the tide pools. The beach was just beautiful!

This friday the crew headed down to Hermosa for a bootcamp class and picnic at the beach. Pooks and I made granola bars the night before and cut up some fresh pineapple. Ashley commented the our snacks are always the yummiest ones and that it was the only thing that didn’t have a crumb left. Go pooks and momma!! She also sent me the pics below from their fun day :). Pooks had a blast as always and Ashley wrote to tell me that “she is seriously the best”. She is in the stripes with braids in her hair.  xoxoxoxoxo
