Our final day in Curacao and i think we did it all! We decided to check out the three beaches left over that we wanted to see and this park that was painted all cool that we wanted at get out and look at. Here is a little wrap up of some favorite memories from our trip. My “a” key has decided to freak out nd keep typing random “a” as i write this so i am thankful it waited until the last post b/c this is a pain in the bum. Memories
1. Sophie stepping on a cactus the first day and completely freaking out
2. Sabi getting her foot stuck in a bridge inside the huge play center at the mall and squealing like a pig. Sophie finally found her and she wouldnt let sophie help her out and squealed even louder so Momma had to climb through the entire play center to the very top to find the squealing pig and set her free.
3. Laying in the back of the pick up truck at night and all seeing a shooting star. Pretty magical!
4. Watching Sabi so proud and excited to be surrounded by about 6 huge lizards and feeding them pancakes
5. Sabi tumbling down the staircase in the house and popping up without a bruise thankfully (if it was sophie there would surely be a broken bone)
6. Sophie snorkeling with dada and seeing a snake in the ocean and freaking the heck out thinking she was about to die. Dada swam back in tears laughing so hard. Sophie will not like speaking of this memory.
7. Swimming with Sophie and schools of fish. Watching her so excited and eager to see everything under the water (except a snake). Listening to her tell me every time she saw a “Parrot fish” b/c for some reason she was really obsessed with this fish.
8. Listening to the girls play endlessly in the bath tub with their toy mermaids and end each bathtub session with some argument over nonsense.
9. Eating some of the worst food we have ever had in tropical place until we decided to just give up and cook for ourselves.
10. Watching the girls turn everything into something magical. They made characters out of their forks at the dinner table and had full out conversations. Hearing their new characters develop “Nikki” and “Sam” who were used the entire trip. Seeing them create their own dollhouse out of pillows, water bottles, and towels…oh and the wooden board.
11. Sitting next to Sabi every plane ride (there were four of them) where she apparently decided to save every fart for and nearly the entire flight continuously dropping fart bombs followed by ” i faaaaarted” shouted louder than necessary b/c she had headphones on.
12. Roasting marshmallows and listening to Sab tell me to pull the brown part off after she intentionally turned the marshmallow brown.
13. watching the sunset on the balcony with WIll while the girls entertained themselves in the bedroom.
14. Googling bugs, diseases, rashes, and anything else that could explain the gazillion bug bites that covered both girls on their bellies, legs and even sophie’s face. Will and i had like none. The girls have fully recovered although Sabi is now home battling a new bug bite patch from the tide pool here- oh the tropics, haha.
15. Dada and Sophie going on a little nature walk together and returning home with an iguana carasass for Sabs to check out.
16. Riding in the back of the pickup truck bed home from dinner with the girls and staring up at the sky.
17. Walking through the airports with one girl laying on my rolley suitcase and one girl laying on dada’s so they get a ride through the entire airport. People always stop and laugh…it actually is a very effective way to get kids through the airport.
18. Watching Sabi and Sophie eat their first Planter’s cheese balls with bright orange fingers and teeth to match.
19. Listening to the girls trying to resolve an argument on their own, followed by a serious conversation and resolution and Sabi waiting on the stairs to talk to sissy.a
20. Traveling with Ash and Molly to SJ and watching the girls have a blast being somewhere new with Ash. Going to Avenida Escazu, eating a yummy dinner together, the Multiplaza, swimming at night and introducing Ash to our hotel hallway races and Santa’s light in SJ. Also seeing the girls run to Ash when we got home and the genuine love that they have for each other.
What a good chunk of memories! So grateful for this life, being together, and sharing it with everyone we love who weren’t able to be there. Also mega thankful that we get to leave one paradise only to return to another. Sophie and Sabi were so excited to come home to CR. They truly love their home which makes Will and I so happy.
Now on to some pics 🙂
Haha typical family selfie
and that’s a wrap! off we go back to CR (after little breakfast and iguana feeding)
