Halloween 2017!

This halloween turned out to be pretty darn epic. First the girls woke up to a festive breakfast prepared by me, then a surprise festive school lunch (again prepared by me- ahem), then we picked up their little buds straight after school and all headed back to our house for a pre-party.

Dada set up a killer candy hunt with a map that took the kids all the way from our place to two rivers, passing by a creepy abandoned hotel, down some stairs to a beautiful beach and ending in a bat cave. When we got home there were three bats in our house that the kids got to see up close while Will figured out how to get them out with a broom. Pretty sure this Halloween is going to be one in the memory bank.

After we cleared the house of bats and sealed the doors, we headed off to another Halloween party (2 hours late) down the block. The kids all piled into the trunk of our truck in the dark and turned on a small light to tell ghost stories while we drove. It was so precious to listen to them make up stories and entertain each other.

The 2nd party didn’t measure up to our epic pre party (according to Sophie) b/c it was too chaotic and too many kids. They did have a dance floor with cool lights and a movie playing so the kids all ran around and hung out for about an hour before we all called it a night.

Ahhh, it couldn’t have went any more perfectly and my heart is full today.
