Back to SJ and then home again in MP!
After a fun and adventure filled trip, we headed back to SJ to say goodbye to Mimi and Pops. Rooskie went to her very first movie to see Shazam and had a late night out for a 2 1/2 month old. She was perfect and the girls all loved the movie. She is really digging her new stroller thanks to Dada for researching and finding one!
After 2 days in SJ we began our journey back to the jungle. As always in CR, it was full of surprises. The ferry ended up being full so yet again we had to go the long way. About 3/4 into the long way route, the road to get home was closed soooo we had to reroute and take another long way. 8 hours later, with 3 cars full of tourists following behind us, a few river crossings, cow traffic and bumpy roads for days…we made it home! Will was an amazing tour guide helping everyone navigate through the jungle. I still have no idea how he manages to always know where to go. Im so thankful for him b/c i can’t even find my way down the block 1/2 the time.
It may sound repetitive but it is so very true- Roo was amaaaazing. Not a peep in an 8 hour car ride. We literally didnt get out of the car once and she was smiling, sleeping, nursing, blowing bubbles, and making her Oohhh sounds. Sophie and Sabs were having a blast watching the tourists get through rivers and having the adventure of driving through the unkown. Im sure Dada was thankful to be home and not have to drive for a few days after all the miles he put in that week. Good times all around!

Back in SJ- Mimi and Pops come to visit and Dada rents the mother of all vans for our road trip :)
Chicago!
We made it to Chicago and so many memories came rushing into my mind. Our first home officially sold and going through the storage I was a blubbering mess. We ended up just putting all our things in a different storage b/c it was too much to go through in our short time with a new baby but it was so fun and emotional to go through some of the things together. Baby pictures, memory books, things from when we first got married, etc. Also the fact that Betsy’s hair was still on a bunch of the clothes def did not help stop the flowing of my tears. Ugh so many great memories and happy times as usual. We got to change the diaper of our last born on the empty floor of where we brought our first born home. For a family who is constantly traveling and changing spaces, this was a special feeling. The girls loved seeing pics of when we were younger and finding little treasures in our storage. We got to chow on some chicago style pizza and get lost inside Whole Foods. Ahhhh it was a great short and very busy trip. Thankful for all the happy memories and even more thankful for the ones still being created. Love this little crew of peeps.

Charlotte – Roo’s first flight!
We made it to Charlotte and of course Sabs and Pookie were amazing travel buddies but we didn’t know what to expect of little Roo and thankfully the peanut was incredible! I am so behind that at this point she has already been on 4 planes and every time she was so flippin awesome! Go Roo Go!
We have a massive ongoing joke now b/c we were seated separately since the flight was full so it was me and the 3 girls while dada flew solo a few rows up. Before we sat down i told Dada to be sure to check on us during the flight b/c i wasnt sure how Roo was going to be and i had the 3 on my own. Dada said of course and plopped himself in the middle seat btwn two women a few rows up.
The entire flight i could see the little swirl on the back of his head with his hand motions and head bobbing while he was blabbing to the woman next to him. I was laughing with the girls making fun of how he neglected us the entire flight and is the only one yapping the whole time. Finally the pilot came on the speaker and said “We will now be beginning our final descent” (fun fact: i had to look up how to spell descent just now. It is possible i have never written that word in my life) and at that time I see Will turn around to make eye contact with me and give me a massive thumbs up. Yes, it was the final descent thumbs up. Hahahahahahahaha. Omg i literally couldnt wait to get off the plane to imitate him.
In his defense he said he peeked back a few times and that the woman on the other side of him was bigger and he didnt want to bother her to get out. Lucky for him we had the champ of a baby so we didnt need him (yes momma cleaned 2 blowouts on her lap in the middle seat during the flight and Roo didnt make a peep). He also said that he knew if i needed him i would have sent one of the girls to get him. All this is true, but we now have the “final descent thumbs up” for all flights going forward and it is epic. Oh another side note: He ordered a beer. Yup, final descent thumbs up while drinking a beer.
The hotel in Charlotte was beautiful and we basically ordered Ubereats and conked out. Oh and Dada thought a homeless person was the ubereats delivery guy. I forgot about that one. He hollered across the street asking if he had his pizza. That story is a bit longer to type and my time is limited with the sleeping Roo but just wanted to insert that in here b/c Dada was having a gem of a day. Now on to some pics 🙂
Below is a pic of Dada on a flight the next day as he ordered a beer and was reenacting his flight experience the day before. You know, his cold beer and chat with Cheryl. Yes her name was Cheryl. We got to meet his new friend after the flight. Good ole Cheryl. Above his pic you can see what my flight experiences are usually like. That would be Rooskie sprawled out on my lap while im bouncing both legs and loosing sensation in my feet. Next to me is Sabs ginger ale (not a beer) which will most likely get spilled straight into my lap at some point.
