Well we are all still alternating battling jet lag which means Momma is never ending battling jet lag. Dada thought he was in the clear but I went to pee last night around 3am and found him in the kitchen eating left over pizza. Silly me stayed up to hang with Dada while everyone was conked out and then when i went to go back to bed my head was like nope, nope, nope. Then if my head wasn’t sure, the lil rabbit in the pack n play announced her nope. I popped her out, fed her and put her back to sleep only to find rabbit number 2 announcing her nope. Which leaves me to this moment of certain nope…sitting on the couch next to Sabs while the rest of the pack are sleeping. Guess i’ll be functioning on 2 hours of sleep for today. I’m trying to focus on the positive which is that tonight i for sure will be sleeping…so there’s that.
Yesterday we went over a friend’s house that we met in CR one time on a road trip. They have two girls around Sophie and Sabs age so it was loads of fun. We had cake and coffee which had me feeling like an old ninny and at the same time was super satisfying so not sure what that says about this point in my life. Sabi found her pom pom wearing soul sister and the girls got to practice their spanish since the kids only speak danish and spanish. They walked us around their neighborhood and it started raining so our jungle kids were stoked and apparently dont mind cold rain. The girls all had their own little umbrella and they were singing spanish songs together while skipping in the rain. So precious!
On all of our walks recently Sophie and Sabi have been holding hands and telling each other made up folktales. They get so into it and it keeps them going so they are walking like champs. Today is friday in Copenhagen and our friends told us that every friday it is tradition for kids to go to the candy store and pick out a bag of candies. The stores bring out special pick n mixes for the kids each friday. Then the families all watch some disney type special on the tv from 8-9pm that airs each friday. Obviously Sabi gave the massive approval on this tradition so we’ll be giving it a go today.
2 days ago we were walking and saw a bunch of kids in the park playing some sorta drinking game where they line up 2 teams and then put a bottle in the middle and each team has to take turns throwing a sneaker to knock it down. If other team knocks it down they have to drink their beer before their opponent picks it back up and whatever they haven’t finished by the time the sneaker is picked up they need to dump over their head. Our kids were very happy to park their bums on the grass and watch this fiasco. They had music playing and everything. Im not sure that this was our finest parenting moment and Will and I knew exactly what Sabi was going to say before she even said it…”we need to play this at home”. Oh Sabsy, she is going to be trouble.
Then we got home and the girls went out into the yard and played with some boys that were out there. Sophie came in and told us that she was playing frisbee and when she caught it she came up and flipped her hair…you know to be like one of those woah girls in a movie (dramatic hair flip). Hahahaha. Will and I were like ummm is that when they said they had to go eat dinner. Our little weirdos. I don’t think Will is going to survive their teenage years.
Anyways, on to some pics. We are having a blast and loving Copenhagen just as much as we did the first time around. Oh and Tooskie took her first train ride…she could hardly contain her excitement (see pic below). Seriously though she is such a travel trooper. Dada lit a fire last night and she was mesmerized.
