10hr flight – check! Made it to Florida and Nana was there for a mega surprise!

Toosk made it through another 10 hour flight like a champ. She has proven to be quite the little traveler and put up with sleeping in all sorts of new places, massive time changes, midnight sun, planes, trains, buses, taxis, ubers, etc! Of course Sissy and Sabsy always rock it and this time was no different.

When we got Florida we were so exhausted that we forgot our stroller in the airport and sadly someone either snagged it or it is floating in a mysterious corner in the airport that no one can find. Inside the stroller were my running sneakers so at least they have each other.

I also came down with 101 fever the day after we arrived in Florida so that was a bummer but I am oh so glad I felt much better the following morning before all our travels back to CR began.

Nana was waiting at the airbnb and the kiddos had no clue. It was a quick but exciting surprise for them and they really had no idea. So cute to see them light up when the door opened and Nana appeared! Fun times for all and the jet lag as usually we much easier on the way back- whew! Next stop SJ!

Playing catch up again. Here are some from our last weeks in Copenhagen!

It was Jazz week in Copenhagen so we hit up a few of the free concerts and had a blast as always just walking around and enjoying the playgrounds, parks, food, etc. Sophie found her love for basketball, Sabsy decided she wasn’t scared of big slides or playground zip lines, and Roo discovered she loved to chomp on dried apricots, strawberries, bread, and basically anything we are eating. She also thinks she is mega cool sipping water from everyone’s cups. Oh and Sissy learned how to blow bubbles with gum! Def going to miss this city! Next stop Florida (with a surprise…)

First full day exploring Bergen

Yesterday we braved the cold and walked around town. We didn’t really have a destination because we only had about 2 hours since we got a late start and the girls had online classes they had to be back for.

We ended up heading to a bakery at the end in search of hot chocolate. The bakery didn’t have hot chocolate but they ended up having a cookie pick n mix so of course it was a big win! The girls picked out all diff cookies to try and we got them a hot pineapple cider. The owners were super nice and after chatting with them for a bit they told us to wait and wanted to give us something to take back to CR.

He came out with 2 jars of homemade jam and 2 jars of white cherries from Norway. So fun to meet people when traveling and try all different types of homemade specialties.

We made it to Bergen! Sabs first meal without a tooth.

Well, the 5 hour drive to Bergen ended up taking closer to 8 hours but we made it and everyone was great! First the tunnel was closed so we had to turn back and go a different way, then that ferry was broken so we had to turn back and do the hour drive all over again and finally we were on our way!

When we arrived in Bergen the guy who met us to let us in to the airbnb was a sicilian guy named Guiseppe. He told us to come to his restaurant around the block and he would give us a discount. We went that same night and it was our favorite meal on our entire trip. He gave kids free ice pops and gave us a major discount. He sat with us at our table eating ice pop and chatted away. Ugh he reminded all of us of Papa and had a mix of Nana in him too. We wished we took a picture with him but we were too busy chatting away. One of our favorite things about traveling is all the people you meet along the way. Now i just want to head to Sicily.

My pretty little kitty lost her first tooth!!!!

I have the cutest video of Sabsy telling the story of her first tooth but I can’t download at the moment b/c my vimeo is glitching so i’ll have to do it later. Anyway, below are pics from getting on a ferry in Norway while Sabsy still had her wobbly tooth, then the ice cream sandwich that was responsible for popping it out, and of course her very first toothless smile!!!!!

Not one did Sabsy lose her tooth, she managed to swallow it too! We got on the ferry with all her teeth. Her tooth was wobbly but i thought we had a few more weeks until it was dangling. She ordered her favorite ice cream sandwich and ate the whole thing. When she finished she came to the bathroom b/c I had headed to bathroom before we were getting off ferry and she said “Momma my tooth hurts”. I said, “let me see. Smile”. She gave me a big smile and all i saw was blood and a hole. I was like OMG u have no tooth. Her sweet face was happy, confused and panicked all in one. We had to get off the ferry b/c it had reached the other side and we were the last ones on there. I shoved toilet paper in my hand and gave to her to hold and stop the bleeding. Shortly after that i thought…where is your tooth? She said “I dont know it was crunchy in my ice cream”. Hahahahah…i think i know where it went. She is still trying to convince me to fish it out of her poo when it arrives.

Luckily the Norwegian tooth fairy named Tannfe still delivers goodies without having the tooth. Sabsy woke up to gummies, chocolates and 2 coins. She was very generous and now Sabsy is working on getting another wiggly tooth out as quick as possible.

Wahhhhh why do they have to grow up so fast???? I already cried when it was first wiggly so im a bit more stable now but catch me on the wrong day and I just may bawl my eyes out. Why oh why can’t they stay little. Love them so. Her two permanent teeth have already come in behind the the baby teeth on the bottom so this smile is about to change. Her two top teeth are both wiggly too!! No, just no.

Last days in Stryn and road trippin to Bergen

The last 2 days in Stryn were cooold and foggy. The day we left it actually snowed in the mountains. Our airbnb owner said that is really rare…even for Norway. Sooo, needless to say we were ready to head outta town.

In Norway during the summer they have the midnight sun where it actually doesn’t really ever get dark. The sun sets around midnight but rises around 3am so in between 12am and 3am it is still light outside. The cabin had no curtains to block out the sun so we were all trying to fall asleep and stay asleep during daylight. Man it was trippy. We were going to bed close to midnight and luckily Sophie and Sabs stayed sleeping but Roo would wake up and be looking around like- Hey suns out funs out! She would go back down but we were def waking up every 2-3 hours.

Thankfully we are in Bergen now and the apartment is equipped with epic blackout curtains so it is 7am here and everyone is still sound asleep. Roo slept for 7 hours straight last night which hasn’t happened in forever with this crazy schedule so I am feeling like I can conquer the world today (if it wasn’t so cold).

So glad we got to see Stryn because it was absolutely beautiful and I am now certain that my limit is a week in cold, snowy, foggy, mountain weather. It also was a reminder that this family likes to be places we can just go outside a walk to things. I dont see us in a suburb of any sort where you have to get in your car to go places…especially a suburb with winding mountain roads.
