Catch up

Whew it has been a busy few weeks for us. I don’t know where the time is going but the days are just flying by. We’re super excited for Sophie’s first Xmas. There are already present galore from Mimi, Grandad, Nana and Papa! She is going to be one spoiled lil munchee this year from her amazing grandparents! It will be a well deserved reward for her first two teeth that have arrived. Yes, that’s right, our little nugget has two brand new teeth! Part of me hopes she doesn’t get any more but I guess that wouldn’t be so good for her in the long run. I hate seeing her in so much pain. Teething BITES! She had a rough time sleeping the past two weeks and was just fussing and grabbing her mouth- ugh it breaks my heart thinking about it. Luckily I think they have surfaced enough that the major pain subsided a bit because she slept 6 hours last night and was back to her normal self today. Go Iggy! Anyway, just some little milestones to note from the past few weeks:

Sophie tried banana, sweet potato, peas, carrots, avocado, some apricot/blueberry combo, and applesauce. Her favorites have been the applesauce, banana, and avocado (in that order). I bought some carrots to make her again this week and we’ll give that a shot again. Updates to come.

Iggs has found some new sounds. She is open and closing her mouth like a little fish and saying ba ba ba, ga ga ga, da da da annnnnd MA MA MA. We’ll be practicing the last one from now on. She also found a bunch of new screams that she loves (good for her, not so much for our neighbors).

She’s sitting up. We’ve been practicing on the floor and she can sit up on her own now. We have to be close by because out of no where she’ll topple over but she’s getting there. Goooo So-So.

She loooves drinking water from a cup and you can’t drink a cup in front of her without her grabbing it and trying to get some. She also loves sucking on an ice cube until her nugget mouth turns all red. Speaking of grabbing…Iggs is grabbing everything in site, especially things that she knows are not her toys. If she is on the counter (in her magic purple seat) and there are five of her toys in front of her, she will grab the one piece of paper that is sitting there and clearly not her toy. She will then proceed to put the piece of paper in her mouth- where it is clearly not supposed to be. She has a gazillion teething toys but naturally loves a chip clip and wooden spoon.

Well I think that is mostly it. Hopefully she gets a little break before her top two teeth decide to head on down. That would be nice for all of us. Or maybe they could just come in over night while she is sleeping- that would work too. We love you iggy, teething and all! XOXO.
