Papa reminded me that I am far behind on my updates because you are so busy now that by the end of the day I am too zonked to focus. You are a complete little person now with a busy little mind and body. I dont even know how to organize this post because there is so much that you have started doing in the past two months that each day brings something new. Well here it goes…
SPEAKING: You are a noisy little creature with a lot to say. Some of it we understand, the rest we are not yet intelligent enough to figure out…bear with us, we’re trying. Some new words (and these increase daily now) are Dirty (Dety), More (mah mah mah), Wait (waiiiiit), Walk, Shoe, Hand, Pee pee, Up (pup), Pooh, Charles (chi-chi), Betsy (pai-pai), Duck, Cookie (cook-a), Banana (nana), Plum (pum), Watermelon (wa-wa), Monkey (monk). Horse (u flub ur lips), Dog (woof woof), Cat (meeeeee), Frog (riiee rieee), Cow (moo), Lamb/sheep (baaa), Chicken (bok bok), Star (you do sign language and open and close your hands- advanced), Cloud (coud), Weird (weid), Money, Funny, Hair (air), Bob (baba), Blake (baba), Aunt Krissy (bebe monka), Nana, Mimi, Door, Plane (pane nana) and i know there are so many more i am forgetting. Clearly you have made up your own language and we are just now wising up to understand it all.
You have also put phrases together, your favorite being “GET BUBA” and close runner up “GET MOMMY”. Others include, “Where going”. “What doin”, “Come back”, “Where Dada go”, “Go Wa-Wa”, “Momma Cook-a, Dada Cook-a”, “What u do”, “Oh no”, “Eww (eeee) Doo-doo”, “Bye (beee) Wa-Wa”, “Bye (bee) Dada” Bye (beee) Momma”. Like I said, you are a noisy little thing.
PLAYING/GAMES: You are a clever little prankster. Some of your favorite games include screaming Momma/Dada until we turn around and then giving us a huge quirky smile and running away so we chase you. This is def. your number one game and gets played every day now.
You also yell for Dada when you first wake up and he runs in the room to tickle you and you scream WAIT WAIT the entire time and then when he stops you pounce on him for more and scream WAIT WAIT all over again. This is how we start our day now and also how we usually end our days before bed. It will be a bunch of “DaDa waiiiit waiiit” followed by “Momma, Buba, Buba” and then it is bedtime.
You love collecting hermit crabs on the beach with your sand strainer and then putting them all in your red bucket. We do this every sunset and you will have almost 10-15 hermit crabs by the time the sun goes down. You walk around holding your bucket and poking the crabs down if they try to escape. We usually have to let them go when you’re not looking.
You also love collecting berries or anything you can pull of the trees and collecting them in your bucket too. This will occupy you until there are no more berries in sight.
You like running up big sand hills and running back down.
You love play-dough and having mommy make play-dough ducks for you. You also like little play-dough balls and pretend they are berries and collect them in a play-dough container.
You loooove markers and drawing all over everything, especially yourself and us. You instruct me to draw a duck, dog, cat, and monkey on you daily. You also love putting stickers all over yourself. It has become normal for our whole family to leave the house with marker and stickers all over us. The other day Daddy had a full conversation with Danny while having orange marker scribble all over his face (courtesy of you)- lol. Finally Danny said “Dude, what’s on your face?”
You love the water and sitting in the ocean during low tide.
You are obsessed with horses. You love the ones that roam around our house and your very special horse is the brown one at Rocamar beach. You call him over by slapping your thigh and then give big smiles as he walks over so you could pet him. This morning you handed me a mango and made a horse noise because you wanted to go find horses and feed them mangoes. We have watched the movie Spirit more times than i can count and are now watching a show called Horseland to supplement our Spirit viewings. You really cannot get enough of horses. When they walk by on the beach you tell daddy to put you on his shoulders so you both can gallop to chase them. You even wake up in your sleep making horse noises. Yes, def. safe to say you are mega into horses.
You also have a new love for Winnie the Pooh. When you hand me the ipad you either say Pooh or make horse noises. This either means, Winnie movie, or Spirit please.
You love to fake sick and get wrapped up in a towel or blanket. I then proceed to say “Awww baby sicky?” and you fake cough and lay your head on me, of course then asking for “Buba”. We play this at least once a day…at least.
You are insanely good at Art Maker puzzles on the ipad. It is a bit genius. One day you just picked it up and did it. We of course have video because clearly you are gifted.
You know sign language for “Twinkle Twinkle little star”. When you want us to sing it you say our names and then open and close your hand at us. This means, get to singing!
You like ring around the rosey and falling down. You like Elmo says…this is like simon says, only Elmo says.
You love singing the Wheels on the Bus and you have hand motions for the wipers go swish, doors go open and shut, and you say WAH WAH WAH for the baby, and Beep beep beep for the horn. When you want me to sing this to song you say “mommy…baby…wah wah wah”, that means Wheels on the bus song mommy.
You like fake sleeping and getting tucked in. You also like to tuck all your dolls in and pretend they are sleeping too. You give kisses goodnight and say Shhhh.
You love playing with Lulu (baby) and you will pick her up and carry her all over the house. When you cant find her you say “where my baby”.
You love dancing. Love love love it and are not shy about when/where u dance. If you hear music, you are shaking it. You also love when we root you on while dancing.
You still love the water hose and especially love spraying us when we’re not looking.
You really are a little pip. You just keeping us laughing each day with the things you come up with. The other day Daddy was talking to Rotem and you wanted to go explore on the beach so you sat there saying Beeee Dada (bye dada), meaning Dada say byeeeee- lol.
FOOD: You are still a good eater. You’re def a carb girl (so is momma). You love your pasta, rice, bread, pizza, etc. You also love condiments and dipping things. You will eat bbq sauce with your fingers. You really like most anything depending on the day. You’re def. a messier eater now b/c you want to do it all yourself and you haven’t quite figured out that you have to hold a bowl straight, or not turn the spoon upside down when distracted, etc. We’re getting there.
SLEEP: Well, this is much better nowadays but you are still bfeeding to sleep and wake up usually once in the night. You are still in our bed and well, we are still A-OK with that!
TANTRUMS: This is a new category because it really deserves it at this point in time. You are learning how to throw a little fit very well. You will look at us dead on and just scream. It is very impressive. You usually follow that up with throwing yourself to the floor in complete frustration and then getting back up and charging at one of us to pick you up. So basically you get mad, scream. drop to the ground, get back up, and then act as if nothing happened. I think you’ll make a mighty fine actress one day.
Well that is just a glimpse of what has been going on and how you have grown. You are just a little miracle. To wrap up this update i’ll use a quote from your very own Pooh…
“Sometimes”, said Pooh, “the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.”
