The 1st day of Xmas month!

Wohoo, day 1 of the advent calendar and candle! We were stuck in Terceira so Sophie and I went walking for nearly 3 hours to find a store that had the calendars. Our hunt was a success and everyone was able to open their first chocolate!!

On our hunt we bumped into a virtual ride booth so obvi had to stop to do the haunted roller coaster. Then we ran into a Christmas fair and saw Santa coming in on the fire truck. Good way to kick off the season…even though we were delayed 2 days to get home and at this point still missing the piece of luggage with all the Xmas presents.

We did make it home on the 2nd and were reunited with the fur family after a month of travels. Let the Xmas festivities begin!

The journey home begins with a few surprises

Well this was one for the travel diary. We flew to Boston- all went well. Then hung out at a hotel in Boston until our flight to PDL and that’s where it all went whacky. We boarded the flight and flew to PDL but didn’t land. We circled it a few times and then after they decided it was too windy to land we flew another 2 hours to Lisbon. In Lisbon we sat for oh I dont know 11 hrs before they told us we would be flying to another island instead of our final destination. Then the flew us to Terceira after sitting us on a plane that wasn’t moving for 2hrs. Thankfully everyone was in good spirits and Toobs made a little buddy so it wasn’t completely miserable. She was actually in a fantastic mood the entire time. The other two are always epic travel partners.

Finally we landed in Terceira and they booked us a hotel. But…they lost our bag. Yay. You know the one with all the Xmas presents. Well, we got to the hotel at 1am. We all conked out. The next morning they found our bags. We stayed in Terceira 2 days before getting back home and being reunited with our bag. The bag that was left out in the rain somewhere along the way and was now filled with wet clothes and mushy toy boxes.

But since im writing this post late as usual, Im happy to report that all ended well! I washed the entire duffle and bought some new boxes to wrap the toys in. What a trek. Ready for the next one.
