These photos speak volumes…
Here is the doll in the box
Here she is after a few hours with Sabs (missing a shoe, hair undone, dirt all over face)
and here she is a few hours with Sophie (just as she was in the box)
Wow the mall was chock full of amazing activities for the wee bits. We started off with the toy maker which was totally free and magical for the kids. They color a picture of a toy, slip the paper into the machine and out the other side pops a toy! It makes music and plays a video of the toy being made inside. Out popped an Anna doll – for free! Gah, the kids were so excited. We only made one coloring for the machine b/c I was with Sabs playing at the playground while Sophie started it. We had no idea a doll would pop out (i figured it would be a little bouncy ball or something). Anyway, when it popped out Sabs was pissed b/c she didn’t have one. We were sorting out the whole no grabbing sissy’s doll type thing when they guy who ran the machine was apparently watching and ran down the mall to catch us and surprise Sabsy with her very own Anna doll. Ugh, just another reason i love CR, they people are so sweet!
Then off to the next free activity on the second floor- crafting baskets and face painting!
Then face painting! Sabsy wanted spiderman :). She was so patient and still the entire time. It was precious. Pooks made a little buddy while they were waiting on line and both girls got butterflies.
So excited for her turn
Next stop- dance party!
Followed by letters to Santa! So we wrote and mailed a letter to Santa and apparently we go to the mall on Dec/ 26 and Santa will have delivered the gift that the girls asked for. I am not sure how this works but it was all free and Sophie asked for a guitar. Let’s see if Santa delivers it. Sab asked for scribble scrabble.
Then a little christmas concert and finally we ended up in the toy store where they have a hug playground inside and the kids were all going bonkers having fun. My phone had died by this point so the memories will have to be in our mind :). We had an action packed day full of Xmas festivities. We left the house at 10am and didn’t get home until after 5pm. The girls ended the day shopping at the grocery store with their own little kiddie size shopping carts. They had a blast!
Wow finding a tree here was a 3 day adventure! I guess we were a bit late on the tree buying mission and they hardly had any in the stores. We finally found a Xmas pop up shop that had the perfect tree! It was $60.00, perfect height and the kids loved it. Sophie picked out some new colored ornaments and blue ribbon. We also brought a bunch of handmade ornaments from home which are my favorite on the tree :). We decorated it last night and hung out stockings (which was another mission to find). I’m trying to get a good pic of the tree but the windows let in so much light that it keeps changing my color. I’ll sort it out but here it is in the meantime…Sophie did an amazing job decorating it, while Sabs tried chucking and bouncing all the balls.
Last night Sophie and I went to grab a marshmallow out of our big bag we got at pricesmart (CR version of costco) and just opened that morning. When I went to grab one out it had ants crawling all over it. Instead of being grossed out or screaming, Sophie looked at me and said…can we just dust them off? Bahahahaha! So i did just that. I dusted off some of the bitty ants and she ate it. Jungle kid.
I unfortunately am not as brave as her so I chucked the bag after she ate her mallow and will be buying a new one this week. I will also store it at a higher level inside a container to hopefully keep those pesky lil ants away.
