Ahhh CR!

Ahh Costa Rica! We start looking into planning a 3 month travel trip and then you give us a weekend like this and I don’t know how we can bring ourselves to leave! It was about 2 weeks of hardly any rain and intense heat and then the rain came and the air cooled and this heavenly weekend occurred. Finding treasure under the sea with goggles, picking apples (at least they looked apple like but def not edible) and putting them in an empty coconut shell, swinging like pole vaulters with a bamboo stick, Rusty chasing butterflies, two sun kissed wiped out kiddos, burying the found treasure and marking it with an X, leaf bugs to examine, massive trees to climb, huge over hanging leaves that create little people tree houses, blue skies, warm clear water, and white fluffy clouds. Ugh, you make these fickle parents decisions even more challenging.

Learning the letter A

This week we started learning the letter A and words that start with A. I plan to do this weekly until we get to Z. Sophie can now write her letter A and knows some words (both spanish and english) that start with A. Let’s see if we can keep this up. Her favorite part is the scavenger hunt and her check list of course.

Oh what a day (and it is only 3:30pm)

So this morning we woke up and the following events all took place before noon

Sabi found a marker and drew all over the couch

Sophie kindly cleaned up the living room and placed Will’s boxes shorts on the stove. The stove that Will was making tea on. We were all playing in the bedroom when Pooks went out to get some water. She came back in and said Dada why are your shorts on fire? I followed my nose to it. Yes, Will’s boxers were on the stove on fire!!

Sabi pulled down a bag of oatmeal and spilled it all on the floor (twice)

I went to change Sabs diaper and before i got the new diaper on she peed all over the floor

Will went to go feed the dogs and put the dog food on the kennel. Sabs walked over to me eating dog food. When i looked over to see where she got it I found dog food spilled all over the floor.

Let’s hope the second half of this day is smoother. Sabs is napping now so we have a good shot! Below is a video of Pooks describing the fire incident. We then made her a medal for alerting everyone calmly about shorts being on fire.
