Mimi, Pops and Uncle Brent come to CR! (this album is a bit late. Sabi was only 3 weeks old in these pics)

Mimi, Pops and Uncle Brent came to visit!! We had a great time hanging at the hotel, watching Pooks harass her uncle brent, getting caught in a downpour with Sabi and Uncle brent, listening to Pops read pooks stories, having some free hands while Mimi had both pooks and Sabi passing out on her, eating some great food, hearing about their horseback riding adventures and watching the boys hit the surf…oh and mmmmmmmmmm that lime drink from Florblanca is still on my mind! Slideshow below! Thanks so much for visiting us – we love you all!

Happy Birthday Savannah Rae Binns! Born 7/24/13 @ 8:48am. A tiny 10lbs 4oz and 22″ long- lol

Happy Birthday to our sweetest little Sabi Rae! You were a ginormo baby and everyone in the maternity ward couldn’t believe the little “Gordita” I gave birth to. I started having contractions at about 4am and waited to wake daddy at around 5:00am to tell him I thought we should head to the hospital in the morning. We got our bags together, took Charles out, texted the Dr. and headed to the hospital. You were so easy on me that Daddy and I walked into the hospital at 6:30am to find out that I was actually 9cm dilated already and you were on your way! The nurse called Dr. Paer straight away and he arrived 20 minutes later ready to deliver you. We made it to 10 cm sweating, shivering and squeezing Daddy’s hand so tight he said it hurt. Right before it was time to push they gave mommy and epidural so she wouldn’t feel the crazy forceps they used to pull your big ole head out. The dr. got you out in only 3 pushes and you were just so beautiful and perfect in every way. We feel so blessed and just stare at you in amazement. Your big sissy is absolutely in love with you and wants to be with you and take care of you all the time. Watching you two bond is the most amazing thing in the world. I am so excited for the journey ahead and watching you both grow…although i truly wouldn’t mind if you both stayed like this forever!!!! Happy Birthday sweet angel. We all love you more than you can ever imagine!!!

Happy Father’s Day!

In honor of Daddy’s day here is a little photo compilation from the past couple of months. Pictures tell a story and it is obvious from this little slideshow that our little Pooks has one of the best Dada’s in the universe! We are so proud and love you so much Dada! You truly are the most incredible dad and human being for that matter. You are fun, loving, intelligent, quirky, handy, creative, patient, and the beautiful thing is that this list can just go on in this fashion. You continue to amaze me and I just love you more each day. We are certain Sabi will feel the same. Happy Dada’s day! We love you more than words can ever express…Love. Momma, Pookie, Sabi, Charles, Betsy, and Lulu belle.

Pookie Turns 3!

Happy Birthday to our sweetest little nugget! I cannot believe that you are 3 years old. You have grown so much this past year! We are so proud of you. Your absolutely hilarious, full of energy, smiles, love, and just pure happiness. You are the most incredible little creature i have ever met. You love to play pretend and your imagination just amazes me everyday. You are basically potty trained (other than wanting a diaper for your doo doo) and it was really not stressful at all. I would write more but being 8 mos pregnant with your little sister and having you run me around all day, i am fried!! Maybe if you ever decide to take a nap again, i will write a long note on how insanely incredible you are. For now, you will have to settle for Happy Birthday and a photo slideshow. You are currently kicking and crawling under me while i try to get this post in. I would just like an ounce of your energy…is that too much to ask? You are awesome! xoxoxo. Happy Birthday to our beautiful princess, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White…or who ever you decide to be at this moment. Thank you for the best 3 years of our lives!

Disney March 2013

Here is a slideshow from our fantastic trip to Disney. We all had such a blast and Will even got choked up when Sophie got to hug Mickey (like seriously choked up). It is so great to relive the innocence through her eyes. We are so blessed. Sophie was such an angel the entire trip and travels. She got to meet Mickey and the princesses, eat heap loads of ice cream, way too much macaroni and cheese and prob enough sugar to keep her going the rest of the month. She stayed up too late, stained a few dresses, made a few friends, and climbed more slides than i can count. She wrapped up the whole trip by dropping a nice hot load in her diaper about 45 minutes before our plane was landing. Daddy had the pleasure of maneuvering a toddler and an adult in a tiny airplane bathroom, trying not to touch any of the nastiness around them. He emerged from the bathroom with doodie on his pants and the look of puke on his face. However, he was holding a smiling toddler. Thank you Savannah for saving me from that mission. Convinced him and Sophie were going to get some sort of disgusting disease, i now lay here typing this as the only one sick in this house. FML. Anyway, slideshow is below from another amazing vacation full of memories!!

Curu National Wildlife Refuge

Will took off work for the day and we all headed out to Curu which is about 1 1/2 hours away. It was 20.00 total to enter and it was well worth it. They gave us a map which Sophie referred to as her “treasure map” and didn’t put it down for the first 45 minutes. She kept saying “I know, i’ll check the map. The map says this way”. We followed her treasure map for 45 minutes pretending to search for crocodiles that say “tick tock”. It was so much fun and her little imagination is just incredible.

We saw some deer, a big mouse looking animal that we called “the big bad mouse” from Sophie’s book, The Gruffalo, (and of course he was eating Gruffalo pie), horses, cows, bobs, and monkeys. We packed sandwiches for lunch and had a little picnic on a beach with a rock cave that of course had magic treasure in it and possibly crocodiles (according to sophie). After lunch we were walking back to the car when all of a sudden i looked down and a monkey crossed on the ground right in front of me. We were so lucky to be walking back at the time and caught an entire tribe of little monkeys playing and swinging right in front of us on the ground and in the trees. Sophie found a little fruit on the ground that she decided was definitely “monkey food” and we put it on a log and the monkey came down and ate it. She of course was ecstatic. “He likes it, looook the monkey likes it”. Ugh it was amazing. Def. a perfect day! Feeling blessed.

Nana’s 2nd Visit

Nana came to town last week and it was another fantastic trip! Sophie jumped on her like a little monkey from the minute she got off the plane and basically didn’t let go until the minute she got back on to leave. The week just flew by way too fast. Sophie is still asking for Nana 3 days later and checking in her room each morning :(. It is such precious, treasured time and at the same time, heart wrenching watching her leave and Sophie yelling “Nana, I wanna give Nana hug”. Even a trip to the toy store didnt distract her an hour later. She got her little toy and then went back into the car and said “wanna play toy with Nana”. Nana left with a healthy tan, scratch to the eye from tree branch, bruise to thigh from tumbling in the ocean, crimped hair, a relaxed mind, and prob a clump of sand in her suitcase…sound like Costa Rica. Come back soon Nana! We love you! Slideshow below.
