Bay Area Discovery Museum

Yesterday Nana, Sophie and I all cabbed out to Sausalito and went to the Bay Area Discovery Museum. It was AWESOME! It was like a huge Romper room. Sophie was in heaven! She had the best time and wore us out until 11pm last night. When Nana left to get lunch Sophie looked up and said “Where NANA” then ran out to go find her and when she saw her she ran into her arms and gave her a huge hug while closing her eyes. It was priceless. That is what it is all about. Poor Will worked until 8pm and missed out on all the fun. I think he is dreaming of the beach, his bathing suit, and a nice cold Tona right about now. Below is the slideshow from our fun fun fun day! xo

Sophie, Daddy, Mommy, Nana and Papa go to D I S N E Y!!

Well, I am a little behind on the blog since we got back a week ago and have been catching up on all the things around the house, work, etc. Anyway, I am still smiling from our trip to Disney! It rained on and off every single day (thank you tropical storm Debby) and we still managed to have one of the best trips. I had over 700 photos to go through when I got home and Sophie was smiling in almost every single one! Some of my favorite memories are:

1. When we first left the airport I was carrying Sophie and she saw Nana ahead of us and pushed to get to the ground. She then started running towards Nana screaming “NANA WAIT” and then ran into her arms and laid her head down on Nana’s shoulders. It was such a hallmark moment. I will remember that always (and i’m guessing Nana will too)

2. Papa fell asleep on the couch and Sophie was relentlessly trying to wake him up with her wand, then finally she just jumped on him and snuggled him making some weird high pitch sound that I have never heard before.

3. Catching Nana dancing in Magic Kingdom on video, and watching her ride the motor scooter to papa.

4. Watching Sosi dance her little bum off in front of everyone on the ferry.

5. Looking at a flat walkway and listening to Papa tell me he is walking uphill.

6. Taking Sosi on the merry-go-round over and over and over again. Listening to her scream “GO” at the choo choo train and fall asleep while sitting up on the train in Animal Kingdom.

7. Riding Dumbo and watching Sosi run to pick out which Dumbo she wanted to sit on.

8. Watching Sophie wrestle with Papa, play hide n seek with Nana, and wake up each morning climbing off the bed saying “Nana, Papa” as she headed out the bedroom door.

9. Looking at Sosi’s face when the parade went by and fireworks went off. She was just in awe.

10. On the last night tater tot fell asleep at 8:30pm and then of course woke up at 10pm b/c naturally my daughter will not fall asleep at 8:30pm and stay asleep. Anyway, at 10pm she woke up and just started walking around the room saying “It’s dark in here. It’s dark in here”. As tired as Will and I were, we were just cracking up and chiming in, “It’s dark in here”. This prob. went on for an hour at least.

Below is the album from our trip. I am so glad we all met there and despite the rain, travel issues, and poor aunt Kiki getting some unknown illness and not being able to come, it was an amazing time! Sophie is still watching videos from the trip and will point to the computer and say “nana, papa” (this means turn on a video of me, nana and papa).

Happy 2nd Birthday to our sweet, energetic, hilarious, loving and beautiful nugget! XOXO

Sosi plays dress up (slideshow)

Yes it is 95 degrees outside, and Yes that is Sophie wearing a Santa hat, bunny ears and Halloween socks in June. My daughter is a hot, hot mess! I was organizing suitcases and had clothes all over the bed so naturally nugget wanted to dress up and this is what she put together (or instructed me to put on her). She got the hats on herself. Whackadoodle!

Sosi turns 2!

Here is a slideshow from our super fun bday weekend! We filled it with lots of junk food, playing in the ocean, exploring the beach, watching the sunset, checking out horses, monkeys and squirrels, swinging on hammocks, dancing our butts off, and sliding down slides! Oh and our new birthday tradition: make a wish on a piece of pasta, toss it at the birthday girl/boy and if they catch it in their mouth your wish comes true. If they are 2 and under you just have to land it close enough that they pick it up and eat it. My wish came true, Will wasn’t so lucky. The weekend was dictated by our new 2 year old leader, Sophie Austin Binns. When she wanted to swim, we swam. When she wanted to play, we played. When she wanted to eat, we ate. Basically it was just like every other day, just with more junk food-lol. Turns out tater tot prefers grapes over fruit loops – yup mommy’s girl! Next stop on the birthday train…Disney!! I am in the middle of a complete 2 year update but with this busy little thing it is getting done in bits and pieces (like everything else these days). Hopefully I’ll finish it tonight. In the meantime, pics from the weekend are below 🙂

Aunt Bebe Monka and Uncle Baba come to visit!! (slideshow)

Well Sosi has officially renamed both Aunt Krissy and Uncle Blake…they are now…Bebe Monka and Baba. She had a blast with both of them and it was so sad to see them go :(. Baba was only with us for 3 days and then had to head back to San Jose for work, but Bebe M was with us for a full week and we took advantage of the sunshine, beach, yummy food, pool, and quality time with Bebe M! Sophie danced, ran around the beach both naked and clothed, played in the pool and ocean, and made us sing twinkle twinkle little star 50,000 times. It was the most perfect trip and each day was full of smiles and sun…the way life should be :). We love you all. Below is a slideshow from all the fun. Come back soon!!

Our new pup?!

Well they say in Costa Rica the dogs adopt you, and apparently this little fella decided he wanted to be part of our family yesterday. We came home from the beach and found him laying under our table in our yard just chillin out. He was a little shy but within 5 minutes Sophie was feeding him food with her hand. She just walked right up to him and held out her hand like she was feeding a horse- lol. He didnt seem to mind and was super gentle licking it from her hand. She calls all dogs DUG…so if he sticks around, he’ll be Dug (doug). He hopped right in the truck with Betsy this morning and came to the beach with us like he has been doing it forever. Right now he is sleeping on the patio outside the bedroom window…this seems to be the spot he has claimed. Hopefully Dug sticks around b/c Will said if he stays a week then we can officially name him and he’ll be part of the fam – though im not so sure Charles agrees.
