The annual crab invasion!

The other night we were driving home from dinner and hundreds of crabs were crossing the road. It was like driving in frogger. As soon as we saw this we knew it was the annual crab invasion after the first good rain. We drove to the beach instead of home and whipped out our cell phone flashlights. It was insanity! There were thousands of them crawling up from the ocean! So amazing and creepy to witness. Luckily the girls didnt have nightmares that night. I guess theyve grown out of the rainy season crab nightmares. This video was from our walk back to the car and wasnt nearly as crazy as it was on the beach but you can get the idea.

A day in homeschool :)

We started the day at the beach, exploring tide pools and soaking in some early morning vitamin D!

Sophie did some english work, math work, and then on her own decided to write a book based on one of their favorite shows called Coyote Petereson. He goes into the wild and finds bugs/creepy animals.

We also sent the girls down to order from the fruit truck on their own and then we made some homemade orange juice.
