Yesterday morning i turned around and saw Sabs like this (naked on the counter). I said “what are you doing” and she said “Umm, meditating!”
Oh my dear Pookie
You are 7 years old and you are just a little gem. I have two stories to describe your personality right now and i hope you never ever change:
- Last night before bed we were chatting and i asked you what you wanted for Xmas this year and your response was “Hmm, i dont know. It is too hard because we already have so much. I mean we have toys now that we dont even play with. I really can’t think of anything. Maybe just surprise me”.
- Your teacher pulled me aside the other day and said you gave her chills at school. She told me there is a spanish girl in your class who sits alone at her desk and has a few learning disabilities (just a bit behind i guess in writing and math) anyways, she said your seat is next to Riley each day. That day after lunch you came back to class and you sat next to Yancy (the spanish girl). Riley hollered out to you “Sophie why aren’t you in your seat next to me?” and you said “Oh well i just thought i would sit with Yancy today because she doesn’t have anyone sitting next to her ever”. Ugh, you rock. Teacher Katya said she got chills up her arms and that you are a really special child. She said she loves you so very much and has only ever met one other kid like you (who she wants you to meet and be friends with). You are empathetic, intuitive, and true to yourself always. I am so lucky to be your mom. You make the world better.

Hanging during Tropical storm Nate!
A tropical storm blew in this way for the first time i can remember since living here. Wind was blowing, trees were falling, rivers were flowing and we were hanging out with no electricity.
We went to the corner store and picked up some sparkly waters, brought some snacks with us, and parked at the beach to watch the show (after the heavy part calmed down).
The girls sat in the truck with the trunk open and chatted with one another, then explored while sipping on their sparkly waters.
We played numerous games of Uno, colored, and of course the girls made up random games around the house.
Today the sun is shining and we are all ready to run around a beach and soak it up! Hoping it stays through the weekend!
