SAN JOSE!

Another fun trip to SJ! We accomplished all our errands and had fun too! Pookie and I had a dental cleaning. It was her very first one and she not only received and excellent dental report, she was also an excellent patient!

Pearly whites!

We got her passport renewed and in 14 days she will be ready for a new book of stamps :).

On the fun note, we went to a night time movie, Transylvania 2, that was in 3d. Sophie loved wearing her glasses and seeing all the vampires pop out. Sabs watched the whole thing without glasses and mainly loved chomping on her big bucket of popcorn.

We ate at Will’s favorite Indian restaurant and got the primo table outside next to the playground. The girls made a little buddy and they all ran around playing chase and hide n seek. These two make friends everywhere they go. Within 3 minutes Sophie had her arm wrapped around him.

We ate breakfast at the hotel each morning. Went for an evening and morning swim. Watched E.T. on the big tv as a family (Sab loved it), and of course the girls were greeted with a special toy each and this time they had a cool kid tent with aerobed :).

Some fun in the hotel room

When i want Sabs to look at camera and smile now, I usually have to say “show me your teeth” and she gives me her big goofy smile…this time didn’t work out so well. Bahahaha. She’s like “there are my damn teeth momma! There they are! See em! (if i had to guess what she was trying to say of course)”. Complete with Diva princess crown.

And a morning swim

Some random car selfies along the way (no one puked this time around. Win!)

We also took a trip to Parque Divertido which was a huge amusement park. It stormed while we were there but only for about 30 minutes so we rode the merry go round for bit. Pookie was afraid of the water rides and Sabs was pretty much done with rides after her experience on the ladybug. This is her all smiles and stoked before the ride began. I think she thought this was the ride…then it started moving…

Then it started moving and she held on for dear life with the most panicked look on her face.

And here is the video of what was happening:

First the before…la la la…fun fun fun

Here is the after. Hear all the kids laughing and having fun…Sabs was not one of them. She was gripping the damn bug for dear life with a terrified look on her face. This quickly escalate to “want out! want out!”. Each time their little bug rolled around we tried to get Sophie’s attention to calm her sissy. We finally succeeded and Sophie tried to hold Sabi’s hand. We then heard Sabs screaming, “Sissy no! Sissy off”. Comfort failed. Thankfully she lasted on it until it stopped because i wasn’t sure she was going to last that long. Sophie went on the ride about 3 more times after. Sabs stood on the side and gladly waved each time she passed around.

On to some more pics from the park and lunch before the park

Here is Sabs so proud of her bracelet to go into the park (she threw a fit to get it off about 40 minutes later so i walked around with it in my pocket).

We rode the 2pm ferry home and the girls made a little buddy that they played with on the boat. Another fun SJ trip in the books. Today we are home, Sophie is back at school (she was out of her mind excited) and Sabsy is singing nursery rhymes while eating/wearing crackers and cream cheese next to me. The animals are back home and all well. Life is good.

Yup we killed it on the homemade pizza front last night!

These two were mine and Pooks best pizzas to date! Oooh they were seriously insanely delicious! Pooks did hers all by herself!! Mine had roasted veggies on it. There were no leftovers. Kinda wishing i had some cold pizza in the fridge for breakfast. Pookie finally announced that her pizza last night tasted better than the one from the italian bakery in our town. That is huge.

Yoga with the school and a new hair style!

This pic is from after a full day at school and a yoga session while there but her hair still held up great! She had a super duper looper day at school and Ashley had a handful of hilarious Pookie stories for us at pick up time.

One of the stories she told us was when two boys were bickering over something and Pook marched on over and declared the following to them:

“Look guys, I walked to the other side of the room, got your backpack and your pencils for you, and what are you two arguing about? Also, what do you say to me (waiting for her thank you). Stop this arguing or I’m going to talk about it”. Ashley said everyone was cracking up and they were trying to teach her the diva snap to go with the attitude. She also said the boys hushed and told her thank you. Bahahaha…typical pooks.

This was her third consecutive day at school this week. Today (thursday) she isn’t going to class but she has art class later in the day. She goes again on friday which will make this the most school days she has had in a week so far (4 days) and she is loving it!

The other day at school the spanish teacher who comes regularly brought her little boys with her and Ashley said she was cracking up because when they left Sophie yelled to the little boy in a funny voice “Bye handsome!”.

Two nights ago after class Ashley sent me this message via facebook which clearly melts a momma’s heart and makes me so very proud!

“You have the sweetest kids I have ever met Michelle. Well done! Xxxx”

Pooks at school

Ashley sent me these pics from school the other day. The kids were watching and learning how to cook authentic Costa Rican food from a Tica. The lesson was all in spanish which is awesome! Sophie didn’t like the food at all (it was corn cakes and some rice milk thing. She was hoping for Gallo Pinto). Another girl in class named Aria was braiding her hair while they were watching the lesson. So sweet.

This is another photo she posted that Sophie is not in but is awesome. She wrote “Kids teaching Kids”. In this pic you can see the older kids sitting and helping the younger ones with some work. Such an amazing concept. Ugh, if i dont stop writing now i’ll start endlessly gushing about Ashley and her school so here is the pic.

Sabsy and Jadyel

The other day while Pooks was at school, Sabsy and Jadyel hung out at our place. Usually we hang out with him downstairs but today he came up by us and they had a blast. They played blocks, ate some of our homemade ice pops (jadyel apparently only like apples so mango, orange, banana, strawberry, and kiwi layered ice pops was pushing it a bit…lol).

Sabs just loves him. She says his name non stop and they always hold hands and pull each other places. Precious peanuts. He is one of the sweetest little boys on the planet. He is terrified of Charlie which is quite hilarious. You can see it in the video, also love how little sabsy pets his head all the time. He speaks only spanish so it is cool to hear them mimicking each other’s languages. xoxo

His face says it all in pic below. He never said eww or gross. He just took a lick and then handed it to me. BAHAHAHA.

This is about when he gave up on the ice pop realizing it was fruit and not helado (which is what he thought it was)

Homemade Challah bread!

Holla…we made homemade Challah! Yup, Pooks and momma got to bread making this morning and although we may need to perfect the looks of our bread, the taste was on point! Pooks made a slug and a smiley face roll. I tried to make a loaf that looks like a bunch of grapes, and then attempted to make some braided rolls.

My grapes and pookie’s slug

Heading to school again :)

It is crazy how much Pookie is loving school and also nuts how this week all of a sudden she is memorizing sight words and figuring out how to sound out words all at once. It is all coming together for her and it is so cool to watch.

She went running up the hill again and couldn’t get to class fast enough. The kids call themselves “The crew” and Sophie told me the other day “Hey Momma you know im part of the crew too”. Bless her heart…she sure is part of the crew. Ashley said that she made several of their grateful lists on friday and the kids just adore her. Even the little girl who was jealous came around and when Pooks walked in the door on friday she yelled “Hi Sophie”. Ashley said she totally changed her tune and was even helping Sophie do some math work. All good things :).

Pooks went to class both Wednesday and Friday this past week (we were in San Jose til Tuesday). This week I think she is going Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. I have a feeling this is going to become a regular thing rather quickly. Today she is going to see Ashley for private tutoring at 4pm, and she woke up at 7:30am, brushed her hair and got dressed to go. I guess she was fairly excited- haha!

Here are some pics from Pooks running up to class, and from funny little Sabs chillin solo with Momma and Dada while peanut is at school.

Going to pick up sissy at end of day! Sabsy was so excited she ran right in and gave her a big hug! Then when it was time to leave she scurried into the school like a little animal and didn’t want to leave Ashley’s side. She finally was ok when she realized that Sophie was coming with us and not staying.
