San Jose adventures Part 1

Ah, it always feels good to be back on our ole stomping grounds. Everyone was still battling the dreadful cold (aside from Will) but we were all ready to get out in the CR sun. We chowed at our favorite hotel breakfast, did our traditional work out room play and scale weigh ins, picked up our usual starbucks, then headed out for some fun house playtime. We wrapped up the day with some yummy gelato and a run around the park. The girls made buddies everywhere we went. Ooooh how i love them so.

Our journey back home :)

We wrapped up our fun NY adventure with some Chipotle for lunch and mailing out all our returns. The journey back to CR was perfect. The girls napped a bit on the plane. Pooks got her little “yellow sparkly water” (ginger ale) which is her special plane drink. Everyone was perfect.

Our hotel in Atlanta was super comfy, and we all watched this obstacle course competition while eating unusually delicious hotel food. The girls were both cheering on the competitors and it was just so much fun! It is rare to have the entire family engaged in show so we soaked it all up. It was prob around 8pm or so when we got to the hotel and we had to leave early the next morning for our flight to CR so we literally just hung out in the room, ate and slept. Flight to CR was on time an girls were fantastic!

We had one little slip up which thankfully ended fine. Momma was walking behind carrying Sabs and a bag. Dada was in front with the rest of the carry-ons, and Pooks was skipping in the middle of us down the airport hallway. We were heading to baggage claim in train style with Dada conducting and Mama caboosing. Sabs decided she wanted to skip with Pooks so i plopped her down and off the went in between dada and momma. They turned the corner and i was lagging slightly behind them. All of a sudden i hear a little voice yelling “No Sabs, NO!!!”. I picked up my pace and wrapped around the corner. Dada turned around at the same time. Pooks was on the top of a staircase shouting for Sabs, Dada was on the bottom step of an escalator going down and there was little ole  Sabs hanging on for dear life on the middle of the moving escalator. Naturally I bolted down the moving stairs and swooped her up. She was perfectly fine but whew that was a close one. Literally as soon as they turned the corner there was an escalator. Dada figured i was watching the girls b/c he was in front (which i should have been but i was a bit out of sorts with the cold and just lil slow moving literally 3 seconds behind them). Good ole Pooks saved the day screaming from the stop of the staircase for Sabsy. So indicative of their personalities…Pooks sees an escalator and waits for me, Sabs hops right on.

Anyway, aside from the escalator mishap, all travels were fun and uneventful. We landed in Liberia and the airport was easy and quiet as always. The girls ran around like little nutballs, and Pooks helped the man roll our luggage out. We rented a car and drove to San Jose (about 3.5 hours) to spend a few nights in the city. We stopped at our Pop’s ice cream shop (a little tradition along the ride), and when we arrived at the hotel, Lisette, (the reservations manager who always takes care of our family), was waiting with two bags filled with candy and toys for the girls. Ah, home again, home again. This hotel is literally a second home to our little peanuts. The know everyone and run right in claiming their stomping grounds. Next up, some SJ fun!!!!

Saturday fun with 1st and 2nd cuzzos!

Momma brought her big ole camera which means…here is the mother load of pics i took all trip. So many cute ones filled with cute little people. Sabs bathing suit lasted all of one hour and then she stripped down to her birthday suit…b/c it after all it was her birthday weekend (not that she needs an occasion to run naked). Be 2, run wild, run free, my little jungle spirit.

Sabs just adores Bradley and he is just an angel with babies. I love watching the dynamics between them. Pooks and Bella were off having their little coffee chats about who knows what but of course, very important. It is precious that most of these pics are taken while no one is watching and they are all hugging and loving each other and giggling. Sweet peas.

Happy Birthday Sabsy, Sabado, Sab dab, Sabzilla, Sabahina!!! 2! 2! 2!

Happiest of birthdays to my little Sabsy!! Oooooh how we love you so! I will do a separate post on all the awesomeness you possess at this wee little age of 2. You are a spunky, bright ray of sunshine and I am the luckiest woman in the world to be your momma! Once i get through catching up on pics, I will do a post on all your accomplishments and firecracker personality. In the meantime…here are some pics

You got a bunch of presents (fishing game, dolls, paint, playdough, shopkins), but i think your very favorite at first sight was your Shrek doll! You squealed. Oh how i wish i had it on video to watch over and over. Another big hit was this face painting kit which you and your sissy got to work on straight away. LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU!

Adventureland with the cousins!!

What a fun day watching all the cousins tackle Adventureland together and finishing with pizza and a swim! I was having a serious case of congestion, this is about the time Sophie’s started, Sabs was prob heading there b/c she was getting clingy, but nothing stopped us!

I tried to snap my phone a bunch in hopes to get one with everyone looking and smiling…but no such luck. All cuties nonetheless.

LI Children’s museum

Two healthy kiddos and off to the museum with Nana we went! The girls had a bunch of fun, and had we not gone to the Children’s museum in CR last week, I would have said this was a great museum. But we did…and well it kicked LI’s butt. Like stomped on it. Buuut, thankfully we went to LI first so we weren’t disappointed and honestly the girls had a blast at both regardless. Plus LI museum came with Nana so that scores major points in the lil ones book. Pooks favorite thing was hammering a nail and the little art station. The bubble station and sand room didn’t disappoint either. Sabs loved hugging all the pretend animals and watching the bees. This is the day I started coming down with the nasty cold that I am currently experiencing. Yes, that is right, two weeks. TWO WEEKS! First the throat, then the head, then congestion, then the eyes, oh sheesh, it is just taking over. Sabs is sitting across from me right now eating her third banana muffin i made with a layer of snot coating her nose. It is lovely. Glad i baked while she was napping b/c apparently everything else i offered her was gross and the ice pop she devoured yesterday was repulsive to her today. These banana muffins are making the cut big time. Thank goodness they have no sugar and all that other nonsense so she can go ahead and eat her little healthy muffin heart out.

A day in the park, Pook’s first ice cream truck treat, hanging at the house.

Sabs ran a 24 hour fever basically all of Monday…bleh. Thankfully it was yesterday’s news by Tuesday. Pooks and Nana went on a little date in the morning while I took care of Sabs. I can’t remember what we did that afternoon but I know for a majority of it I was laid out on the couch with a sick little Sabs on top of me. The next day we went back to the park with Sabs in tow and the girls both had their very first ice cream truck purchase (though Sabs donated hers to Nana since she still didn’t have much of an appetite). Papa came in to hang out and we just laid low around the neighborhood while Sabs recuperated. Pooks made some buddies at the park as usual, and Sabs just went down the slide over and over again, as usual.

Of course she picked the weird character with gumball eyes. Her mouth was blue for the rest of the park visit :).

“Wanna go weeeeeee!”

Hello, NYC!

A little combo post of first two days and visits with friends. Matt’s bday party, Laura and Rob’s house, visit with AJ’s kiddos.

Our first full day in NY we headed to Uncle Matt’s birthday party! The cuzzos all played together and picked up right where they left off. Apparently I didnt take many pics this day (prob just recovering from getting in late the night before) but i made up for it later in the week :).

The next day we headed  back to LI to see our favorite little family. This is always one of my favorite visits in NY and the kids just absolutely adore each other. Sophie ran in before we even got out of the car and her, Mason and Elle were already off to playing. Sabs fell asleep on the way there and was a bit clingy that evening. I found out the why next morning…FEVER. She still played in spurts and had a blast. We all picked up right were we left, and Rob cooked a killer dinner. Big love to this special family always.

Look at little Elle’s face in the pic below. Nom nom nom. Love these two!

One of the last days we were there we popped over to see an old HS friend and her little nuggets. Once again, the girls walked right in and ran off playing with AJ’s little son (who i didn’t get a pic of sadly) like they have known each other for years. They also both wanted to take care of her little 4 month baby and Sabs went right over to put a paci in her mouth and help feed her a bottle. She really just adores babies and it is so darn cute to watch. Pooks is super gentle and equally obsessed with babies. I am so proud of my sweet peanuts and how friendly and comfortable they both with themselves and other people. Oooh they make my heart burst.

Catching flies. Night night babies. xoxoxo
