Blake and Tati and Bodhi come to visit!

Blake and Tati came from Saturday through Tuesday morning. The girls took to Tati within the first 5 minutes and didn’t leave her side for the rest of the time. Sophie would wake up and before she even came out of the room she would be combing her hair and getting dressed to look all presentable for her guests. Sabs is just the friendliest little creature around. She was sitting in Tati’s lap within the first five minutes and just hugging her and giving kisses. They are such lovebugs and it makes me so proud to see them so kind and open to new people.

We went to the beach everyday, spent over an hour playing in the rain and swimming in the ocean during a downpour, had several intense games of wall ball (one in complete dark lit only by flashlights), ate breakfast on the beach, had horseys come for a morning visit, played frisbee, stick/rock ball, a fun jam session with pooks and blake, and watched Bodhi drive dada crazy jumping on our beds and couches.

I didn’t bring my camera to the beach but Blake has some video from his gopro so i will try and get that from him. Here are some pics from around the house :). I also have video of an intense wall ball game and Blake has his butt crack sticking out the entire time so i will be sure to post for everyone’s enjoyment.

Homemade playdough making!

The other morning at some ungodly hour, Pooks woke up and was all excited to make some homemade playdough before Sabsy woke up. I agreed to make it (before drinking coffee) figuring that once I finished making it all i would have some time to sit and drink coffee peacefully. Sabs woke up during the process b/c Sophie decided she wanted 4 different colors (it would have been more if i didnt put a stop to it). Sabsy came out and i propped her on the counter while we finished cooking up her dough. Finally done, i put them both at the table with the dough, some wax paper, and told them to have some fun. The fun lasted oh i dont know…5 minutes! Sophie said, I’m done Momma (while Sabs was screaming b/c she couldn’t have all the playdough). I said, done? No you are not done. I am at least guaranteed equal times of play to prep. It took maybe 1/2 hour to make, so you play for a half hour. She did and so did Sab, and then it was about 1/2 hour to clean it all up b/c it was still warm while they were playing and of course didn’t stay on the wax paper so it was on the floor, chair, etc. The effort to reward ratio was slightly unbalanced in this project. But, here are there cute little faces, playing with some dough for a bit.

Below is Sabs stealing all the dough (as you can tell from Pooks face)

Here is evidence of the dough first leaving the playing station

Sissy mobile still in service

Some toys we buy and they don’t last the package unwrapping, others get a few months, then there are the gems that have been around 4 years. This little car bought from the grocery store is now 4 years/ 2 generations strong. I think we have changed the battery once (if ever).

My little Pooks

Last night we went downstairs to give Jadyel his birthday present that we bought in San Jose. When we came back upstairs the following convo took place:

Sophie: Momma, I got a present today too!

Me: Oh yea, what did you get?

Sophie: The best family.

Me: (puddle on the floor)

Where does she come from. Oooooh how i adore her.

Guess who visited our house last night…The Doggie tooth fairy!

Yup, little miss Flobo lost her first tooth and Sophie was so excited b/c this was her first experience with the tooth fairy. We left a little note for the doggy tooth fairy and taped Flobo’s tooth on it. She came and got Flo’s tooth and in return left a bag of coins and a sea shell. She left a note as well that told Flo to go to the store and pick out a little treat with her money. Sophie jumped out of bed this morning and ran into the living room yelling to see if the doggie fairy came! She was super impressed.

To make things funnier, this morning after the family dropped me off at work out, Dada started to drive back home. Sophie said, “Dada why are we going back home?”. They usually go to the beach or get a treat or something. Dada said he had to go back home because he had to finish some work this morning. Sophie looked at him and said, ” Dada you don’t have to do any work today. The tooth fairy came. She left us money!”. Oh the innocence and simplicity of a child’s mind. I wish it would never disappear.

HAPPY DADA’S DAY!

Today we celebrated all the great Dada’s and since we are not in the same country as our own Dada’s (who rocks as well) we put all the focus on our local Dada who does a kick butt job each day. I really lucked out to have found such an incredible man to spend the rest of my life with. I am even luckier that he is the standard set for our girls as they grow up.

He is insanely smart, handsome, caring, funny, adventurous and loving. He makes sure to tell us how much he loves us each day. He reminds us not to take days for granted and to really live in the moment. He works extra hard so he can hang out with us throughout the day and what most people think is impossible, he makes happen. He truly is my soulmate and though we may not get it right every time, we always work on bringing out the good in one another and encouraging each other to be the best we can be. What a beautiful life and family we have been blessed with and there is no one more deserving of this special day than our very own Dada. So let the celebrations begin.

The night before Father’s day, Sophie and I made 8 golden tickets that Dada could turn in for different rewards whenever he wanted. She thought of hers all on her own (help dada with laundry, help dada take dogs out, etc) mine involved (let dada sleep in, coffee in bed, etc). We hid them all around the house and Dada had to go search for all his golden tickets. After his search Sophie decided she wanted to make him breakfast in bed so her and Sabs got to preparing…

Sophie was so excited to give dada all his surprises. She is such a little sweet pea. Next we headed to the beach. I dont have any pics b/c i left my phone at home and we just enjoyed the beautiful day together. Here is one before we left.

When we came home Dada conked out (a nice fathers day nap) and we made some cupcakes (Sophie’s Dada’s day request)

Then as per Dada’s request…Sophie and Mama made some homemade pizza dough the night before and to wrap up Dada’s special day we made our pizzas and then sang Happy Dada’s day with a candle in the cupcakes. It was a brilliant day for a brilliant Dada! We love you so very much!!!!!!

Will caught this on camera b/c it was just too hilarious. While we were eating Sophie was watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on her ipad (the original), and ironically Sabi was watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on her ipad (the remake). They were both on the same exact scene of the same movie in different versions. So bizarre.

Broccoli soup eatin fools!

I can feel Nana smiling down at this dinner time sight. We have had a sick pookie twice, and sick sabi once in the past 3 weeks. It has been many o’ nights filled with broccoli soup, followed by mornings of broccoli soup, and afternoons as well. These girls just cant get enough. It has gotten to the point that i have to make two meals b/c Will and I can’t stomach another dinner of broccoli soup. Neither of them eat broccoli any other way but they both slurp up double bowls of soup. It is insanity. Thankfully everyone is healthy again in this house so we can hopefully go back to once a week for this soup.
