Forgotten story in Rome

I keep meaning to note this and forgetting, at last i have remembered. After over 18 hours of travel when we finally arrived to our hotel in Rome, Will ran downstairs to get some Wifi info and I started drying my hair while the girls were coloring on the table in the hotel.

In the middle of drying my hair Sophie said, “Look Momma I made tattoos on Sabsy”. I turned around and Sabs entire belly was covered in marker tattoos. Sophie drew two big circles around Sabs little boobs to make eyeballs and then used her belly button as the nose and made a mouth under it. I laughed and then went to wash off Sabs belly. Nothing came off. Not even a bit.

I went over to see where Sophie got a marker from and of course she found the only permanent marker in a container full of markers that the hotel left for them. Sabs had a tattooed belly for 1/2 our trip in Italy. I have to look back to see if i took any pics or if you can see it in any future pics. I laughed every time i got her dressed in the morning. Each day Sophie would say, Hey look i think it is getting lighter. LOL. Sabs loved the artwork of course. Eyeball bubas! Thankful she chose Sabs belly and not the hotel walls/furniture.

The first real rain! Hellooooo Rainy Season!

We finally got dumped on last week with the first rainy season worthy rain. You could hear the neighbors and our family all shouting as soon as the rain started falling. It is CR change of seasons, and a beautiful change it is. Showering everything green, beautiful sunsets, rainbows. and some cooler temps. The double rainbow was out in the middle of the rain and I didnt get to see it in person but a bunch of friends in town all posted pics so i put one below. We were too busy dancing in the rain and playing music inside. Pooks ran downstairs and danced her little butt off until she was soaking wet.

Mango Picking, bakery pizza and a turtle!

Today we finally all made it to the mango trees together. On the way we picked up some of Sophie’s favorite pizza which we were going to eat at the beach but Sabs ended up falling asleep in the car, and Will had to do a business call so he needed cell service (without the sounds of waves crashing behind him) so we drove up to the mountains and Pooks and I hung out while she ate hers (and everyone else’s) pizza. After Dada’s call Sabs woke up and we headed over to pick some mangoes!!

Look who else is creeping on some pizza

On or way we spotted this little fella in the middle of the road. We pulled over, picked him up, said our hellos, and helped him over to the other side.

Hello Mango Season!

Beating the heat

Whew last week was flipping hot! Thankfully the heat finally broke for now and it has been much more breathable around these parts. The kiddos hung out with Dada while i went to a workout class and they got bottles of sparkling water and drove around the hills of Santiago. They found a ton of mango trees that Will took me back to see when we were driving around with Sabi while Sophie was in art class. We finally all went back together on Friday morning and did some mango picking (pics above). After they picked me up from workout it was super hot and high tide at the beach so the water hose satisfied both fun and cool down as usual :).

Oh and here she is Queen Bee (who also just got treated for a case of fleas this morning)

Hanging at Sunset Reef

Nearly everyday we walk over to this beach at least once. There is a big pond/river thingy on one side that the girls call a wishing pond and throw things into…rocks, logs, their eaten carambolas once they are finished, leaves, leaves with hermit crabs on them to sail away, etc. The dogs like to swim in it and run around it. Momma and Dada like to sit and watch. Win.

This is Sophie’s face as the dogs ran around the girls on the log chasing each other and flinging sand all over the nuggets.

Sophie carried this log over all by herself and told us she found the perfect place for sissies to sit together, and so they did.

Lookie Lookie…The little artist finally said she wanted to go to art class again!

The teacher took these pics of Pooks creating her masterpiece. So far she said she wants to go again next week! They gave her a brownie and some strawberry juice so i think they scored big this time. Last time it was lemon cake and watermelon juice…both of which Pookie said she just pretended she liked (and clearly did a bad job b/c when i picked her up they asked if ella no le gusta sandia o limon).

We got to the shop a little early to pick her up and she was walking outside with two little friends and all holding hands. Little cuties.
