Well a year has come and gone and now you are the big 13 months! You have been a very busy Iggy. Right now you are napping next to me because you were up about every 1/2 hour last night! You have two bottom teeth coming in and possibly molars but we’re not sure since you wont let mommy see in there for long. You started doing a lot of new things lately and are just so much fun. We just got home from Florida and you caught a nasty virus that you’re finally kicking but you managed to still have a blast and smile. This is your first official “virus” that lasted about a week and I hope to GOD that it is your last…though that is prob not realistic. I hate seeing you sick and not yourself- it breaks my heart. Anyway, that’s about all we’re going to dwell on that dumb ole virus…on to the good stuff!
1. You are walking everywhere!!! I think you forgot how to crawl and sit. You only want mommy’s finger and you want me to go wherever your little heart desires. You grunt and stick your hand in the air and that means – mommy finger now…and we’re off. As soon as you wake up in the morning you instruct me to go go go and so we go go go.
2. You walked our entire grocery shopping trip at Costco yesterday with a big fat grin b/c you were so proud of yourself. You just held my hand and walked all the aisles. I wish we had video b/c it was the most adorable thing. You def. brought lots of smiles to shopper’s faces.
3. You wave hello all the time now, but not necessarily on cue or when anyone is looking. You will wave to people’s backs, you waved to people sleeping on the plane, and to cars driving by.
4. You love other little girls. You make me walk right over to them and you stick your hand out until they hold it. Ugh melts my heart each time. You are just the sweetest little thing (unless you are having a diva moment which is my next point)
5. You have learned to have a diva fit. You bend your legs like a drama queen and give a beautiful high pitch scream that just sings I love you. You are very lucky you’re cute and these are isolated events.
6. You can do “SO BIG” though you choose when you want to show off this trick.
7. You have taken a liking to Nilla Wafers and feeding mommy and daddy. You are also trying to eat with the spoon and imitate everything we do.
8. You are saying DAH and that means dog, and Ello and that means hello but you only say this when you have a phone in your hand or a phone rings.
9. You are starting to understand things like when you grab a comb you put it to brush your hair, when you have a plastic bag you bring it to where we store plastic bags, you brought the dog bowl to betsy yesterday too. You are so smart.
10. You’re still bfeeding and clearly do not want to stop anytime soon. I initially said 6 mos, then 12 mos, now I’m just leaving it open ended…we’ll know when it is right.
11. You love water, fountains, pools, the sink, just anything water related.
12. You love playing in dirt, but hate the sand. If you get sand on your hands you hold them up to show me with a disgusted look on your face and wait until i wipe it all off (D I V A)
13. You went to the Zoo for the first time and loved it. You mostly loved the people and music but gave some smiles and pointing to the animals.
14. You love to dance whenever music is on and you have 3 solid dance moves…the bounce, the limp arm, and the open/close.
15. You’ve gotten better about your diaper changes, or should i say, we’ve gotten better at figuring out how to change it with you standing, crawling, walking, kicking.
Anyway, I’ll add more if i think of it but these are the main updates. So proud of you!! Ohhh you weighed 21.11lbs at dr. and you were 31″ long- work it supermodel! Love you sooooo much! mwah mwah mwah mwah!

This is how Sosi insists on holding her brother when they carry him out LOL- Charles is thrilled as you can tell
My new bathing suit fits and I am ready for Fla!
My little loves
Sosi had an awful night sleep. We’re not sure what it is but we’re going with teething since that usually seems to be the case. Anyway, this morning she woke up at 5am and since I was up with her all night, her awesome daddy got up and let me sleep a little bit more. I came out of the bedroom at 7am to find Elmo on the TV and my little loves like this…heaven.
Daddy’s 2nd Father’s Day!
We celebrated Daddy’s 2nd Father’s day with a bunch of outdoor fun! It was super hot and humid but the little turnip toughed it out and basically stayed out all afternoon. In the morning we let daddy sleep an extra two hours (this was one of his favorite parts of the day), and then we all hopped in the car and went over to a new park we heard about in Bucktown. Sosi had her first experience on the baby swing, and apparently she prefers sitting in the dirt and picking up rocks. Then we all went to Baskin Robbins and she had her very first taste of ice cream (cookies & cream, and peanutbutter cup to be exact), this she was def. a fan of! Aside from that, we spent the day sitting on the sidewalk picking up rocks, watching bugs, and putting our fingers in the dirt (is this my daughter?). It was a perfect day for a perfect father! We love you so much. You are our rock. Thank you for being the most amazing daddy for our little foofa. She is one lucky girl, as am I. XOXOXOXO. Slideshow from the day is below, along with a few extra pics from the past two days. Ahh!! I almost forgot! Soph took her first few steps from the side table to the couch. She then poked charlie in the eye and sat back down. Bahahaha- go Sosi go!!
Fun with stickers (at Igg’s expense). Terror slideshow!
These are just all too good. I didnt know which to post- so here is a slideshow. She is seriously hilarious!!!!
Mmm blackberries….
Thank you Aunt Laura and Uncle Rob for my awesome froggy chair!
Our little dog walker and flirt (she has a thing for Art)
Dear Sosi, Iggs, So-So, Soph, Nugget
I can’t believe that this time last year your daddy and I were walking laps around the block trying to encourage you to make your way out! Now we’re walking laps around the block holding your fingers and trying to encourage you to walk! Here we are one year later and I just don’t even know where to begin…
Sosi you are the light of our lives. You have changed every single thing I ever thought was a priority or important. All I want to do i make you smile forever. You are the sweetest, funniest, most beautiful and incredible thing on earth. You giggle all the time, you cuddle and hug, ugh you just make me warm inside and out. When I see your little face every morning I just get a fuzzy feeling that is indescribable. I feel so lucky and blessed to have you as my daughter. All the dreams and visions I had of you when you were in my belly, don’t even compare to how amazing you are. I really had no idea. Anyway, I could go on forever about you and will end up balling my eyes out, so let me get to the important stuff…your 1 year update!!!
You are wanting to walk everywhere. You hold our fingers and walk your little butt up and down the blocks. Everyone gushes at you and your chunky little thighs as you make your way around the neighborhood. You always have a big smile on your face as your walking and you are so proud of yourself, as you should be!
You have learned to climb the couch and futon and you have not stopped since you figured it out. When you get to the top we sing for you (hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray) and you just glow. You look as though you have climbed Mt. Everest…and well for you, it might as well be.
You are eating everything as usual. You are such a good eater. Nothing has changed here. You love feeding yourself and make more of a mess now, but hey, when else are you going to be able to eat everything with your hands!
You love pointing at everything and saying Ah, Ahda, and some other forms of highly intelligent baby language that us simpletons don’t yet understand. Be patient with us, we’ll get there.
You love splashing water, playing in the dirt, eating dirt, picking up dog hair and handing it to me, holding worms (thanks to daddy), you know all the girly things…lol.
You are sleeping better now. Not through the night yet but we’re getting there. If you sleep longer than usual, I am up several times to make sure you are breathing so we both seem to have a little separation anxiety- we’ll get there in time.
Hmm, ohhhh how can i forget- you are using a sippy cup on your own!!! This was a major accomplishment. I went through about 5 sippy cups and well as Elmo says on your video, “you have to be persistant”. You finally just picked it up and sucked on the straw. So proud!
Iggs, I know it may sound repetitive but honestly, you have made us so proud and so happy. You have made this past year the most incredible year of our lives and continue to do so every day. We love you sooooooooo much, words can’t even describe. I wish I could freeze time right now. It is all going too fast. I just want you to cuddle with me and smile forever. I will truly do everything possible to make you the happiest little girl. Thank you for being you and for letting me spend everyday with you. Ugh, im balling…of course. I haven’t even made your bday album yet, this isnt a good sign. I need to stop here. I love you so much, so so so so so so much. You daddy and I truly are the lucky ones. Happy 1st bday my little sweet nugget head. Mwah mwah mwah. Ah, you just woke up…perfect timing. XOXO
