My little loves

Sosi had an awful night sleep. We’re not sure what it is but we’re going with teething since that usually seems to be the case. Anyway, this morning she woke up at 5am and since I was up with her all night, her awesome daddy got up and let me sleep a little bit more. I came out of the bedroom at 7am to find Elmo on the TV and my little loves like this…heaven.

Daddy’s 2nd Father’s Day!

We celebrated Daddy’s 2nd Father’s day with a bunch of outdoor fun! It was super hot and humid but the little turnip toughed it out and basically stayed out all afternoon. In the morning we let daddy sleep an extra two hours (this was one of his favorite parts of the day), and then we all hopped in the car and went over to a new park we heard about in Bucktown. Sosi had her first experience on the baby swing, and apparently she prefers sitting in the dirt and picking up rocks. Then we all went to Baskin Robbins and she had her very first taste of ice cream (cookies & cream, and peanutbutter cup to be exact), this she was def. a fan of! Aside from that, we spent the day sitting on the sidewalk picking up rocks, watching bugs, and putting our fingers in the dirt (is this my daughter?). It was a perfect day for a perfect father! We love you so much. You are our rock. Thank you for being the most amazing daddy for our little foofa. She is one lucky girl, as am I. XOXOXOXO. Slideshow from the day is below, along with a few extra pics from the past two days. Ahh!! I almost forgot! Soph took her first few steps from the side table to the couch. She then poked charlie in the eye and sat back down. Bahahaha- go Sosi go!!

Dear Sosi, Iggs, So-So, Soph, Nugget

I can’t believe that this time last year your daddy and I were walking laps around the block trying to encourage you to make your way out! Now we’re walking laps around the block holding your fingers and trying to encourage you to walk!  Here we are one year later and I just don’t even know where to begin…

Sosi you are the light of our lives. You have changed every single thing I ever thought was a priority or important. All I want to do i make you smile forever. You are the sweetest, funniest, most beautiful and incredible thing on earth. You giggle all the time, you cuddle and hug, ugh you just make me warm inside and out. When I see your little face every morning I just get a fuzzy feeling that is indescribable. I feel so lucky and blessed to have you as my daughter. All the dreams and visions I had of you when you were in my belly, don’t even compare to how amazing you are. I really had no idea. Anyway, I could go on forever about you and will end up balling my eyes out, so let me get to the important stuff…your 1 year update!!!

You are wanting to walk everywhere. You hold our fingers and walk your little butt up and down the blocks. Everyone gushes at you and your chunky little thighs as you make your way around the neighborhood. You always have a big smile on your face as your walking and you are so proud of yourself, as you should be!

You have learned to climb the couch and futon and you have not stopped since you figured it out. When you get to the top we sing for you (hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray) and you just glow. You look as though you have climbed Mt. Everest…and well for you, it might as well be.

You are eating everything as usual. You are such a good eater. Nothing has changed here. You love feeding yourself and make more of a mess now, but hey, when else are you going to be able to eat everything with your hands!

You love pointing at everything and saying Ah, Ahda, and some other forms of highly intelligent baby language that us simpletons don’t yet understand. Be patient with us, we’ll get there.

You love splashing water, playing in the dirt, eating dirt, picking up dog hair and handing it to me, holding worms (thanks to daddy), you know all the girly things…lol.

You are sleeping better now. Not through the night yet but we’re getting there. If you sleep longer than usual, I am up several times to make sure you are breathing so we both seem to have a little separation anxiety- we’ll get there in time.

Hmm, ohhhh how can i forget- you are using a sippy cup on your own!!! This was a major accomplishment. I went through about 5 sippy cups and well as Elmo says on your video, “you have to be persistant”. You finally just picked it up and sucked on the straw. So proud!

Iggs, I know it may sound repetitive but honestly, you have made us so proud and so happy. You have made this past year the most incredible year of our lives and continue to do so every day. We love you sooooooooo much, words can’t even describe. I wish I could freeze time right now. It is all going too fast. I just want you to cuddle with me and smile forever. I will truly do everything possible to make you the happiest little girl. Thank you for being you and for letting me spend everyday with you. Ugh, im balling…of course. I haven’t even made your bday album yet, this isnt a good sign. I need to stop here. I love you so much, so so so so so so much. You daddy and I truly are the lucky ones. Happy 1st bday my little sweet nugget head. Mwah mwah mwah. Ah, you just woke up…perfect timing. XOXO

Stiff Sosi head

Little nugget is pulling out all the stops in order to stay in Mommy and Daddy’s bed. I started kicking her to the crib because she was so pushy in her sleep, well apparently she figured that out and now she sleeps on her back stiff as a board- lol. Go nuggie go.

Happy Memorial Day!

Oh and a happy Memorial day it was…nugget has FINALLY mastered the sippy cup!!! After about 5 different cups and several failed attempts, today was the day. I just handed her the cup and for whatever reason, today it made sense! Yayyyy!!!

Victorious! Alas, I have figured you out sippy cup!!!

Slurp, slurp. Just a nuggs and her sippy cup. Nothing to see here folks.
