We are home!!! Yippie!!

Wow we are all so happy to be home. I cant believe how different it feels and we didnt even leave the country! Ugh, i am up early right now, in boxer shorts and a sports bra, not freezing, doors wide open, no cars, no traffic noise,no tv… just green and birds and bugs and sweet ole rusty guarding his family!

The air feels so fresh and my mind feels calm. We showered under the stars, all slept in the big comfy bed and chucked french fries off the balcony for the animals to enjoy. The girls are super excited to for school today and Will and I are mega excited to get back to working out!

Yesterday before we caught the ferry back, we all went to the obstetrician b/c i had to get a little bump checked out. Turned out to be nothing but a lymph node that apparently was always there. WHile i was at it I got my pap and had the whole family there for the event. Sophie had primo seat right at the end of the stir ups and the dr explained to her all he was doing. Yup, took one for the team there yesterday. You’re welcome guys. Zero privacy with these peeps. Sabs standing there saying “i see your nin pin…i see your boobas:. Oh the life of a mom. At least all was good and healthy :).

Off to drink my favorite coffee which i couldnt find for a month. Yes hot coffee, no noise, no kiddos awake…must be my reward for the pap show yesterday ;).

A glorious day in the mountains!

Yesterday we drove up to Poas Volcano and had the most beautiful day! It was so refreshing to escape the city and be back in nature. The air was fresh, cows were everywhere, dogs roaming, horses, waterfalls, ugh just perfect. At one point in my life i thought i was a “city girl”…ummm no. For sure i am not and neither is this little family of mine. Sophie said “we should stay here next time. This feels like Costa Rica (she thinks the city is some other country here)”.

We had a little picnic on the side of the road with the most incredible views and fresh mountain air. Then we went to La Paz animal sanctuary and Waterfall garden followed by a yummy Tico style lunch and then if that all wasn’t enough we spotted a sloth on our drive home!! We pulled over and went to the tree and he was right by our head just eating some berries. Sophie and I were geeking out. Ugh what a cool day!! Feeling super thankful!

Happy 35th Birthday Dada!!! We love you!!

Yay, Dada and I are only 2 years apart now- wohooo…for about 2 weeks. He celebrated his bday by opening a business bank account here in CR and then out for a yummy lunch, playground time, home for cake and a movie :).

Dada i am so extremely proud of all that you have accomplished this past year. I know i say it every year, and really every year it is true so that says a lot about you. You are the worlds greatest father, husband, person, friend. I love you so much and feel so thankful to have you by my side through this amazing journey of life. What a killer year this was and cheers to many more! You are AWESOME!

Last day of 2016!!

We ended the year with a bang! Loads of fun with the arcade, bouncy house and painting in the mall. We got home about 6pm and I made broccoli soup for the kiddos and sweet potatoes, veggie stuff peppers, avocado/jalapeno salad for us. It was all super yum and we were in bed by 9pm watching Batman. Everyone conked out by 10:30pm and that was NYE in these parts ;). I woke up around 11:00 from fireworks and everyone was snoring right through them (thankfully). Cheers to 2017! Feeling thankful for this past year, blessed for a new year and just forever grateful for everything.

Sabs Vs the Bug

Yesterday we took the girls back to Parque de Diversiones in SJ. It is a huge amusement park here that we went to last year around the same time and the girls had a blast. Sophie said it is “better than Disney World because it isn’t too many people”. Um, ok we can go there instead…always. Anyway, i have pics from the day and it was total fun, but the highlight for sure was Sabs vs. the bug so it is getting its own post.

Last year she completely lost her sh*t on this ride (i’ll look for pics to compare) but this year she seemed to not remember her battle with the bug and happily hopped on the ride again with sissy. As it happened last year, she was all smiles again and driving her little bug…until the ride started moving. We figured she was older and since the ride just goes around in a circle it wouldn’t phase her this year…we were WRONG.

Omg i am still dying every time i think about it or look at these precious photos. We may be slightly evil b/c Will and I had tears rolling down our cheeks watching the panic in Sabs face each time their little bug passed us. As soon as the ride started moving she clung on to Sophie’s arm screaming her head off in sheer terror. Oh man, these pictures don’t even do it justice.

Here they are…Sabs vs. the Bug

Here’s some video to demonstrate the bug’s movement. You can see Sabs and sissy in the little bumblebee one and hear Will and I cracking up as they pass. Omg i have tears posting this hahahaha…

Here she is battling the bug in 2015. She used the front cling technique instead of Sophie’s arm. It took us a minute to decide whether she was having fun or terrified. She was terrified.
