Overnight Commando

Last night we risked waking up to a puddle of pee and put you to sleep diaper-less. You did us proud and slept straight through, accident free! You woke up in the morning and walked right over to your potty for a pee. We figured you were ready since you have been waking up for over a week with dry diapers and then taking them off as soon as you wake up and going to pee on the potty. Go nugget go! You have regressed in the doo doo dept. and decided it is more comfortable to ask for a diaper, gather some toys, and camp out under the kitchen table to doo, rather than the potty. O well…all in due time. xoxo

Swimming in the rain

Today it started to pour buckets and lil pooks wanted to go out and tickle rain dance. Daddy surprised her and just ran outside and jumped in the pool with her. She thought it was hilarious. They were having so much fun that I had to put down the camera and get in myself. The rain made waves in the pool and was super refreshing. Good idea dada!

Practice Birthday

Yes we learned a lesson today but at least it was a fun one. Daddy mentioned Pookie’s birthday (which is next week) to Pookie and well, that was all that needed to happen to have a morning filled with “It’s my birthday. Time for birthday party. Make a birthday cake. Open presents.” etc, etc. Sooo, we did just that…minus the presents. We sang Happy Pretend Birthday to you, baked a cake, blew out candles and made a pretend birthday dinner. Thankfully you were satisfied and we will not be talking about your birthday again until the morning you wake up and turn 3 yrs old! XOXO. Nonetheless, we had a fantastic pretend birthday and i made you a perfectly scary Coraline type smiley face cake with what we had here.

Quad season

Quad season is back again. Monkeys are out. Trees are green. Dust is gone. The river is forming. And Pookie is apparently a teenager bringing a pocketbook to the beach (though luckily it is full of plastic fruits and veggies and not lipstick/cell phone, etc).

WOHOOOO!! Doodie in the potty!

The day has now arrived! Pookie just decided today was a good day to put her doo doo in the potty and now she wants to just make doo doo in the potty all day. She was so proud of herself and kept telling everyone how she made a big doo doo and a baby doo doo. We have the pee pee in potty down so I think little girlfriend will be fully out of diapers by the time she is 3! I had a feeling she would just do it and it was really just an easy transition for us…granted we live in a town where she runs around naked 1/2 the day so im sure this helped! SO PROUD and will def miss seeing her little booty in diapers but on to princess undies we go :).

Papa is fat

Papa told all the kids (and adults) to say “Papa is fat” when we were taking a family photo. Sophie didn’t get it of course and just sat there stunned for all the photos. Buuuut, in typical Sophie fashion, when we got back to Santa Teresa and started looking at all the photos she saw the one of the whole family and she started chanting “Papa is fat” around the house-lol. I dont think she has any idea what it means but the memory on this little one amazes me daily. She also watches a youtube video of two little girls pretend driving a car and one of them says “let’s go this way” so now Sophie has started saying it just like the girl and making the same expression out of no where. She is such an actress.
