Sunset on another beautiful day!

Today Will and I got to run again in the morning and then came home to girls happily learning with Ashley and making music on empty jars. After we settled back in, Pooks and Ashley went off to The Place for some more learning and swimming! Ashley said she had a blast and they hung out there for an extra hour (ordered some ice cream of course). When Pooks got back home the girls played together so sweetly and then we all went off to see sunset to wrap up the day. We are really on a good run here (no pun intended).

Also important to note: Sabsy has had a thing for Dada ever since she got over her flu. She keeps asking for him to play with her and asking for him to go places. It is like a complete switch. He is so friggin happy about it and soaking it all up. Sophie has been particularly into him lately too! At night I always tell her stories about when i was a girl and the past two night after my story she wants Dada to come in and tell her one about when he was a boy. So sweet!  Sabi has also been rather kind lately and really mushy and sweet with Sophie. She is sharing a bunch and if Sophie gets mad she is hugging her and apologizing (most likely b/c she is the one that pissed her off).

Another final note: Sophie is starting to READ! She is sounding out letters and reading words. It is so amazing! Now on to pics

Another reason she is the coolest 5yr old!

Yesterday we had an amazing morning with the girls. We brought them to the tidepools that we found the day before, and also brought along two boogie boards to surf the waves. Sophie absolutely loved boogie boarding and was so good at it!

Anyway, we got home around 1pm and Riley came over at 2pm for a play date. The girls were sitting on the floor playing pretend with their princesses and the scenario was something about being a “cool girl”. I overheard the following while i was making muffins and it had my heart was beaming with pride:

Riley (she was playing the mean one but made sure to tell everyone it was just pretend b/c she is super sweet): You can’t be a cool girl like me.

Sophie: It doesn’t matter if i look different. I can still be a cool girl. We all look different. What matters is what comes from inside.

Riley: Oh

Ugggghh i wanted to run over and hug Pooks to let her know what a brilliant comment that was but i waited until Riley left 3 hours later. They are both so adorable and sweet. Also Sabs was playing with them and she kept pulling the beads they were playing with so instead of getting mad Riley said “Hey Sabs, want to play catch?” and stopped what she was doing, got up, and played catch to distract her. SO proud of these two.

For the last hour Riley’s little sister Luka came over and the four of them were just precious together. They all ended the day with red lipstick on courtesy of Pooks.

When they had to leave, Riley had a little meltdown because she didnt want to go home. Sophie went over to calm her down and then said “Hey I know, how about we all have a group hug until we see each other again in one day”. UGHHHH precious. The four of them gave a group hug.

Pooks you make a momma proud!

Melts a Momma’s heart

Last night before dinner the girls were watching a Tinkerbell movie together on the same stool in the kitchen. I was cooking at the stove and heard Sabi turn to sissy and say ” Sissy, I want to  be a fairy”. Pookie looked at her and said “Me too Sabs, I want to be a fairy princess”. May they always dream big.

Sophie’s first little crush

A little boy named Max joined Sophie’s lesson with Ashley on friday and as soon as he got here Sophie and him clicked. They went running off together and you could see the hearts flying all around them. She just adored him. When he left she told me that he is her boyfriend and that he is the greatest boy she ever met. Lord help us. He really was super sweet! He is 2 years older than her and she seems to really love that age group. When they made their grateful lists that afternoon he got the number 1 spot and she drew a heart around his name. O M G. Hoping Riley didn’t see she got the boot. His mom wrote me last night saying how he came home telling her all about his new friend and how much fun he had. Sweet little things.

Magical morning in ST

Will and I left the girls with Ashley this morning and went for a long run at the beach. On the run back we stopped to watch this beautiful sight! 3 horses were rolling and playing in the ocean while dogs played next to them and people surfed behind them. It was pure magic. When we got home the girls were painting, laughing and listening to jazz music with Ashley…that was magic. What a blessed morning.
