Saturday in Cabuya

We had a good rain here on friday night so saturday we decided to quad on the non dusty mountain road and spend the day in Cabuya. The quad ride is through the beautiful mountains and then we landed at a secluded beach with the most incredible tide pool. We all had so much fun. After swimming around we went to a place for some pizza on the way back. The kids played chase and hide and seek the whole time and then we all ate some yummy pizza. It is so fun to watch the girls playing so much together lately. Also feeling really thankful that we live in a place where Sabi can go out to eat in her undies and no one flinches- hahaha! Ah, it was a perfect day!!

Fun friday filling buckets, swimming, scavenger hunt and fire dancing!

Ashley set up a killer fun friday for the kids. First we met her at The Place where some kiddos from an orphanage in San Jose were visiting to spend a weekend at the beach. The fun friday crew made cards, cookies and cupcakes to welcome them to our town. When we got there we also saw Pia, Sophie’s art teacher, who was also greeting the kids with cards. Our little crew filled some happy buckets today! Then we headed off to Banana beach where ashley set up a fire dancers demonstration, made a scavenger hunt and the kids were able to play and swim in the pool. It was such a good time that i voluntarily stayed to hang out. The kids were all so good and watching Sabi hang with the big kids just warmed my heart. She was also kicking around the pool like a champ!

When we were ready to leave a storm started rolling in and we stopped at Green World to get some things and wait a bit. The girls ran out in the ran and jumped in every puddle they could find. They also stood under anywhere that a gutter type thing was dumping bucket loads of rain. AH it felt so good. We drove home on the quad while sophie was belting out songs and catching rain in her mouth. Sabi conked out on the ride home and will and I just soaked it all in.

It was another magical day!

Heading to their first Fun Friday at Ashley’s house!

Ashley hosted the first fun friday at her house this week and it was a Frozen theme. The kids all made frozen treats, did art work, went swimming at the neighbors house and overall had a blast! Sabi was so determined to go and bring her own little backpack. It was so precious! As soon as we pulled up she literally jumped out of the window into Ashley’s arms. Before we even left she looked at me and said “You stay dada, i go ashey”. Bahaha glad to know im so loved. She came home with huge chocolate covered smile planted on her face. She zonked out at the table 20 minutes later while eating strawberries.

We found a turtle (actually two since this photo)

The other morning i heard Flower messing with something and looked over the balcony to see her gnawing on a turtle shell. I yelled at her to drop it (which she did) and ran down with Sabsy (sophie was still sleeping and Will was out boogie boarding) to get the turtle. We brought it up to the bathroom and it only had a small crack in its shell. Sabsy and I washed it and then left it in the bathroom to rest. Sophie woke up and saw the crack and decided she needed to clean it and help heal the crack. She got a towel and wiped down the marks where the cracks were and then put it on top of the turtle like a little blanket and told him to rest. We kept it in the bathroom until Ashley got here b/c the girls wanted to show her and release it back into the river with her together. They did just that when Ashley arrived and then later that afternoon we caught Flower with another turtle (we know b/c the shell wasn’t cracked) and Will yelled at her and told showed her the turtle telling her not to do that again. Him and Sabs went and released the turtle together. Maybe they are mating now? Ashley told us the next day that she read that humans and dogs are turtle number 1 predators. Makes sense ;). Oh and ps while im writing this I am watching Sabs chomping down on an ice pop that is secretly loaded with KALE. Muahahaha…parenting win.
