Sissy has become quite the chef these days. Her dicing (or micing as she calls it) skills are on point and her meals are all so yummy. In fact this soup is Tooskie’s favorite meal. I Sophie will be cooking her birthday dinner b/c she gobbles this all up whenever Sophie makes it.
We made it after a 7 hour and change flight to Portugal, a 6 hour layover and then a 3 1/2 hr flight to CPH! Whew long one but kids were amazing and made a buddy (who was kinda insane) for the 6 hour layover so time flew by. We battled jet lag for about a week after this and Dada had a fever for a day, and the kids still had a solid snot flow for a week, then Momma got a cold but for Xmas we were all back to normal! The girls went to one floorball session and then the sports were on break for holidays. We packed all our Xmas prep into 2 weeks and got all set up for the holidays.
We bought a projector and watched all our xmas movies on the big screen in our own livingroom. Super fun memories and now as I type this on Jan 7th we are finally getting into our groove.
We got to Florida and Sophie was all better just in time for her sisters to get knocked down. This time Sophie took turns going out with Dada until the crew was finally well enough to all go out together. Everyone thankfully got better right before for our long haul flight…and by right before I mean hours! Thank goodness b/c prior to that we had a vomit party, washed the sheets way too many times and had my share of puke in my hair. I am thankful to have been close to a shower/washing machine and not stuck on a plane with the pukers.
Oh and speaking of planes and puke, i forgot that Sabsy vomited on the flight from SJ to Florida when she was sick and walked around the airport in Florida smelling like the sweet stench of vomit. Most of it made it into the airplane barf bag but the part that didn’t reminded us the whole way through the airport and Uber to our hotel- yum!
Pretty sure that was the first time we used the airplane barf bag. Truly hoping it is the last. That was a rough flight for poor Sabsy but she hung in there like a champ and didn’t complain once. Sweet little trooper. Sabs doesnt like taking medicine so she just rode it out and took baths every few hours.
Sophie had an epic pizza slice when we arrived to Florida and we all froze our bums off in the airbnb (florida A/C) and sweated as soon as we walked out the door. I wore more clothes inside in Florida than I am here in the winter in Copenhagen.
We headed off to San Jose with one sick kid (Sophie down) and little did we know that at time we had two more about to go down during our journey. Sophie was a champ traveling while sick and then basically rested in the hotel room while Sabs took turns going out with Dada and I. Sabs and I found a Santa mailing station and when Sophie was feeling well enough we took her out and they sent their card to the North Pole just in time for Santa! Tooskie had a bubble bath, they all chowed on some yummy ice pops and Sabs got sick just in time for our flight to Florida. She woke up the morning of our flight with fever :(.
