Sabi’s 2 month update

So here it is our little Tica…dos meses ahora (one day i will do a full update in spanish to represent your tica side. That day is not today since yo necessito trabajar en mi espanol mas). On to it:

You have rolled over (once for Daddy and pooks while i was not there but there were witnesses)

You smile ALL. THE. TIME. You are the happiest little two month old around. You literally wake up each morning with a big fat smile.

You eat like a champ and don’t seem to have the attachment yet that your sissy did to the boob. You get on, chow down, and pop off. There is not much lingering with you but it is clear that you are eating enough.

You are wearing 3-6 month clothes and they are even running tight on you.

You lift your head like a baby double your age and love to stand on our bellies. You get so proud and always make the same adorable geek out face.

You loooove your sissy and even stuck out your hand to grab her when you heard her voice the other morning. You will always smile for her and stare at her constantly.

You are sleeping through the night from 7-8 hours in your pack n play and then i bring you in the bed to feed you and you fall right back to sleep cuddled in the bed with us.

You love the bath and have already been in both the ocean and the pool. The ocean you loved…the pool not so much yet (you had just woken up from a nap and the water was cold from a heavy rain the night before so we’ll give it another go under better circumstances).

You knock your toys off the bouncy chair already and you will fall asleep in it with your hands on your knees like a little fatty buddha.

You get more and more hair each day. I think your eyes are going to either be brown or green but we can’t tell yet.

You are amazing. We are so proud of you and love you so much. You are still just the most chill, easy going baby i could ever imagine. Keep up the good work sweet chunk love. Your thighs get munchier and munchier each day- nom nom nom!!! xoxoxo

The chocolate “Kinder” egg

Pooks has been obsessed with these chocolate Kinder eggs ever since she saw a commercial for them on youtube and then spotted one here in San Jose. She knew exactly what it was from the commercial and was so excited she found it in the grocery store. This happened nearly a year ago and she has been egg crazy ever since. She has gotten so many that we have started getting duplicates and may have to consider store hopping to find a new supplier. Anyway, it is a chocolate hollow egg with a toy inside. The toys are usually some little monster, or princess, and she just gets so excited. She opens them at the kitchen table, eats the chocolate first and typically offers us some, and then when she is through she opens the toy and runs around showing us all what it is. Ah, the little things. Reminds me of getting charms for my charm necklace when i was a kid.

Perfectly strange

These two comments happened yesterday and it got me to thinking how perfectly strange our life is.

“Remember the time I farted and gave you a hive?”. Yes while walking on the beautiful beach at sunset, Will turns to me and makes this statement which is 100% true. He ripped one in the car in Chicago that was so toxic it gave me a hive. While discussing this, Sophie is getting angry at a piece of Styrofoam she decided was a boat and it wouldn’t float to sea (b/c the tide was coming in) so she spent 15-20 min repeatedly putting it back in the wave and saying “DARN IT” every time it simply came back (all while standing at shore butt naked of course). Then she spotted tinkerbell and fireworks in the deep dark woods (aka someone’s house light).

After the beach we went to the store where i bumped into my friend Jenny who just had a baby about a month ago and after embracing she made this comment:

“I was weighing Ani at the fruit and vegetable store the other day and she was 8lbs. I turned to my husband and said can you believe she is still 2lbs smaller than Michelle’s baby was at birth!”.  Now normally the weird part of that comment would be that i had a 10lb baby pop out of me. Yes that is weird in itself. But, what i find strange is that I thought it was totally normal that she weighed her baby at our fruit and vegetable store in town on the veggie scale. It wasn’t the normal “oh she weighed 7lbs at her 1 month check up”.

We already know that Sophie is a complete weirdo and I guess what I’m saying is…Sorry Sabi, you are destined to be a little bit off and that is perfectly strange. xoxo
