Baby # 2

11/12/2012 (date this was originally written) Well tonight we found out officially that you are creating your little home in my belly! I hope you’re getting comfy in there. You have a big sissy Sophie out here, two parents who already adore you, two pups named Charlie and Betsy, and a kitty named Lulu (who just ate a poisonous frog tonight so may not be here when you arrive). You are prob the size of a grain of sand right now and we already love you to pieces. Daddy and I are overwhelmed with emotions tonight and your sister well, she was busy watching Winnie the Pooh and running from the pregnancy stick thinking it was a thermometer. She is a quirky one and coming from our gene pool im sure you will be too!! We love you and are so excited for the journey ahead. Keep up the good work my little poppyseed (i looked it up and you are the size of a poppyseed, some could argue this is a step up from a grain of sand). Daddy sang you the ABC’s tonight. He will do this every night until you are born, be glad it is daddy and not mommy, I am a bit tone deaf. Guess we’ll have to sort out this blog thing now and get you your own little blog. I’ll work on it poppyseed. Goodnight xoxo

Sophie and her toys

Oh how you love this bucket of toys and continue to remind us by telling us “my toys”! You make voices for the little characters and create little scenes like the witch chasing sleeping beauty saying “touch the spingle (spindle)”. You are so insanely adorable!

Hello Mo-Mo, Hello Cook-A

Every time we get to San Jose we have to unplug the phone b/c tater tot climbs on the desk and starts calling people. This is prob. the 2nd thing she does after running around the room and turning all the lights on b/c the switches are at her level. Once she is done she proceeds to use the desk lamp as a telescope and look out the window…ahh to be a kid.

Clap Clap Dada!

Last night daddy fixed your toy car (he replaced the battery) but you were so impressed you yelled “It’s working! Dada fixed car! Clap clap Dada!”. You say clap clap instead of good job, yay, congrats, etc. You made Daddy’s night. He had a huge smile and felt like your hero. Clap Clap dada!

Happy Halloween!!

Today we played in the ocean at lunch and watched the monkeys swinging in the trees (awesome)! Of course on the way home you requested and ice pop and we stopped at the store for you to pick it out. We were not even 1/2 way up our hill home when you fell asleep on the quad with the ice cream cone in your hand (this was a first). Bad for you, good for me- it was yummy!

After your nap we got you dressed up and headed out to a Halloween party that was full of kids all dressed up and running around. There were so many kids that i think all of us were overwhelmed. After about 45 minutes of playing with toys and wandering around you walked right out of the party and said “Quad, go get ice pop” and off we went. Technically this is your 2nd of the day but since you fell asleep on the first one it doesn’t count. Plus it is Halloween, eat away! You pranced your little bunny butt into the food store got your ice pop and then proceeded to cut the whole line to hand it to the cashier. Everyone was laughing and we of course told you that you had to wait and you went to the end of the line and waited your turn. You met a little baby boy in line and daddy told his mom that he was “pretty” (clearly he thought the baby was a girl). Anyway, you said “ciao baby” and walked out to the parking lot where you ate your ice pop and danced for everyone.

We headed home when you were through and all took a bath. During the bath the power went out and we decided to hop on the quad and check out if the whole town was out of power. You brought your flashlight and shined it the whole entire ride. We came back home and the power returned within 1/2 hour and we made some popcorn and played. This was your 3rd Halloween. It was perfect. We loooooooooooove you little bunny butt.
