Baby Bird
Last night we wanted to go drop off a container of soup to Oscar and you were so busy playing with your toys that you didnt want to be bothered. In efforts to convince you to hop on the quad i told you that we could see the baby bird and that perked you up right away. Two days before this we met a little baby chick that Oscar was keeping in a big box until it was big enough to hang with the big chickens. You fell in love and sat there saying “awww baby bird so cute, tickle tickle”. Unfortunately I didnt even think that Oscar might not be home and well, he wasn’t home so the whole baby bird visit/soup drop off mission failed. To an adult this is not a big deal, to a toddler thinking she was going to pet a baby bird, this was a mickey mouse doll thrown down the hill off the quad type of fit. Yes, i had to go retrieve your poor mickey mouse that you chucked from the quad once you found out that the baby bird was sleeping (aka oscar wasnt home). Anyway, after you chucked mickey you got so distracted that mickey was flying down the hill that you settled for my quick “we’ll go see the baby bird in the morning when she wakes up” and focused your anger on the fact that your mickey doll was flying down the hill.
Now to the ironic part…this morning we woke up and you were sitting on the couch eating your oatmeal when all of a sudden we hear a loud clunk and look out the back door to see a baby bird knocked out on our outdoor couch. You immediately yell “Baby bird” and it is all of a sudden quite evident that I am some sort of psychic super mommy. We went outside to check on the little birdy and you were petting it so gentle and sweet. The poor little thing flew into our glass door and knocked itself out on the couch. We thought it might have a broken leg or wing because it was just sitting there letting us pet it so daddy put together a little box for us to put the birdy in and take to the vet to see how we can help it. When daddy went to put the birdy in the box it just opened it’s wings and flew away. What a beautiful ending to the baby bird story and so glad that it got away before Lulu (aka Sasha) spotted it helpless on the couch.
Hold please…Okay
Today you and I rode the quad to get some breakfast and then parked at the beach and explored. You of course wanted to go to the “house” (a toy playhouse in front of a hotel) and then when done you said “wanna go wee” which means head to the swing set in front of another hotel. Once we got there you looked at me, looked at the slide, and then proceeded to hand me your lunchbox (you bring a lunchbox full of coins to pay for your breakfast) and said “Hold please” and ran off to the slide- lol. Once you got to the top of the slide you would scream “OKAY” and then slide on down. You are amazing.

Hola Kids
Today you walked up to a little boy (prob 6 yrs old) and his little sister (prob 4 yrs old) and said “Hola Kids”. You are seriously the funniest little nugget. Where do you come up with these things?!

Our first 6.5 earthquake!
Last night we were all eating pizza and salad and out of no where everything started shaking. Immediately your daddy and I got up, swooped you out of your booster and headed outside. It was slightly terrifying, especially because the power went out and it was pitch black outside but we all did well and you had no clue. As soon as we got outside you saw the neighbor’s cat named Pizza (ironic) on the roof and all you cared about was catching and petting the “baby”. One thing we adjusted from this run through is to leave the flashlights right next to the front door so we can grab them on the way out if ever needed. Luckily no one was injured, no damage was done, and we came back inside to finish our pizza 🙂
