Mango Picking, bakery pizza and a turtle!

Today we finally all made it to the mango trees together. On the way we picked up some of Sophie’s favorite pizza which we were going to eat at the beach but Sabs ended up falling asleep in the car, and Will had to do a business call so he needed cell service (without the sounds of waves crashing behind him) so we drove up to the mountains and Pooks and I hung out while she ate hers (and everyone else’s) pizza. After Dada’s call Sabs woke up and we headed over to pick some mangoes!!

Look who else is creeping on some pizza

On or way we spotted this little fella in the middle of the road. We pulled over, picked him up, said our hellos, and helped him over to the other side.

Hello Mango Season!

Beating the heat

Whew last week was flipping hot! Thankfully the heat finally broke for now and it has been much more breathable around these parts. The kiddos hung out with Dada while i went to a workout class and they got bottles of sparkling water and drove around the hills of Santiago. They found a ton of mango trees that Will took me back to see when we were driving around with Sabi while Sophie was in art class. We finally all went back together on Friday morning and did some mango picking (pics above). After they picked me up from workout it was super hot and high tide at the beach so the water hose satisfied both fun and cool down as usual :).

Oh and here she is Queen Bee (who also just got treated for a case of fleas this morning)

Hanging at Sunset Reef

Nearly everyday we walk over to this beach at least once. There is a big pond/river thingy on one side that the girls call a wishing pond and throw things into…rocks, logs, their eaten carambolas once they are finished, leaves, leaves with hermit crabs on them to sail away, etc. The dogs like to swim in it and run around it. Momma and Dada like to sit and watch. Win.

This is Sophie’s face as the dogs ran around the girls on the log chasing each other and flinging sand all over the nuggets.

Sophie carried this log over all by herself and told us she found the perfect place for sissies to sit together, and so they did.

Lookie Lookie…The little artist finally said she wanted to go to art class again!

The teacher took these pics of Pooks creating her masterpiece. So far she said she wants to go again next week! They gave her a brownie and some strawberry juice so i think they scored big this time. Last time it was lemon cake and watermelon juice…both of which Pookie said she just pretended she liked (and clearly did a bad job b/c when i picked her up they asked if ella no le gusta sandia o limon).

We got to the shop a little early to pick her up and she was walking outside with two little friends and all holding hands. Little cuties.

Back in action

Our car is back in service and we hit up our usual veggie shop in Cobano for the first time since we’ve been back. We spent just about 100.00 and got everything below. Also not pictured is a papaya and pineapple we bought for our neighbors below. There are 30 eggs in the carton and they are free range from a local farmer in town. Here you dont refrigerate the eggs because they are fresh. They last about 2-3 weeks. Since we are all vegetarian this is the bulk of our weekly shopping and the kids consume enormous amounts of fruit between plain eating it, daily smoothies, and homemade ice pops. We bought all this on monday. I only have 2 bananas left today (wednesday). We made muffins, froze a bunch and made smoothies, and now we have two up for grabs.

Some of Pookie’s pics from Italy

I just got around to pulling Pookie’s pix off her camera from Italy. She also has a bunch of random videos so that will be the next step. Here are some of her pictures from our adventures (which she always wants to talk about now when we are laying in bed).

Whenever she would bring her camera with her and we would leave for our day she would say Ok let’s stop and take a family selfie before we head out. Her short little arm doesnt extend very far so most of them came out too blurry but here is one that didn’t

Conversation from last night

Last night Sophie and Dada were having their usual daily bickering and this is what I overheard:

Sophie: I’m going to tell Papa you threw a ball at me and he is going to be really mad.

Dada: Oh yea, well what will he say when you tell him you tried to kick me in the weener?

Sophie: I’m not going to tell him that part.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
