“Buba”

It’s all fun and games until Momma says Buba. That is all Sab needed to hear to crawl up to the top of the pillow and wait for the boob. I said I wouldn’t be nursing number 2 as long as i did Pooks, and here we are coming up on 2 years. Oh well. “Want Buba. Night Night”. I am a sucker (no pun intended).

Tico Bunny!

We set up for the Tico Bunny last night and he arrived with all sorts of yummies. He left two big bouncy balls to replace the old one that Flo Bo popped. He hid 28 eggs all over the house full of candy and surprises. The chicadees were so excited finding all of their eggs and reading the note the bunny left for them. Sophie said she was really proud of the bunny for eating his carrot and drinking the water she left for him. It was pretty early and between last night and this morning the bunny was almost caught hiding his eggs so we didnt take many pics but the little lovies had a blast! Sophie wrote her and Sabs names all by herself on both cards and knew how to spell them both. We left out all our empty eggs for the bunny to come and fill with candy overnight.

The bunny would have hid them all late last night but he had to return very early this morning because if he left his eggs out overnight all the chocolate would have melted. Oh tico bunny problems.

Crafts gone coo coo

Today the electricity went out for the entire afternoon. It was 1000 degrees and we decided to make some crafty cards for the Tico Easter Bunny who was making a late visit to our house that night since he promised to stop by when we got back home. That project turned into this…

“Edward Scissor fingers”

Last night before bed we all laid down with the ipad and cuddled to watch Edward Scissorhands…or Scissorfingers as Pookie calls him. It was amazing because it captured the attention of Sabs who is not even 2 years old. Sophie of course was mesmerized and then declared she will never watch it again because it was too sad. She also said that Dada can’t pick out movies anymore and that she needed to watch some Beverly Hills Chihuaha before bed so she can get the sadness out of her head.

All this happened last night yet today she keeps wanting to talk about Edward. There was a bully in the movie and Sophie was so disgusted at him the entire movie. She kept telling me all the things she would do to him if she was there. Things such as flick him in the head, and put him in time out, etc. She was so disturbed that she had to close her eyes when the guy was being mean b/c she couldn’t stand to watch. It is so amazing that she can watch people cut heads off, zombies, blood, whatever, but as soon as it comes to emotional drama she is really turned off and bothered by it.

There was also a bit of a sexually inappropriate part that Will and I didnt remember and as soon as we saw it come up we were like Oh hmm gotta fast forward. Of course Sophie is still asking what happened in the part she couldnt see and why she couldnt see it and what happened in the part she couldnt see and why she couldnt see it and but why, why, what, what…you get the idea. Will said something about the lady said something and Sophie said yea but why was she climbing on top of Edward…woops. Parent fail.

Sabs let us know each time a car popped up in the movie by motion a horn honk and yelling “Beep Beep”. She also informed us about the exciting parts with her “WOW” and blew out any candle or fire she saw on the screen.

We had so much fun, tonight will be All Dogs Go To Heaven…hopefully we will have as much success.

The electricity is currently out and it is oh i dont know 100 degrees. Both Sophie and Sabs have perma sweaty head. Luckily Sabs is asleep and hopefully won’t wake up until the power comes back on.

Just jinxed myself. Sabi is awake. Electricity is not.

Night Night!

Just found this from the day we got home to CR. The girls passed out watching TV at 6:30pm while i was drying my hair. That. Has. Never. Happened. Good to know it takes about 15 plus hours of traveling to achieve this. Beautiful nonetheless.

We’re Baaaaaaack! Mal Pais!

We took the 9am ferry back on sunday and arrived to a spotless house, healthy and happy Rusty and Lulu Belle and a sun shining day :).

We picked up Charles and Flo Bo on Monday morning and they were both looking fantastic too! Flo bo prob doubled in size but Sophie said all is good because she is still a baby like Sabs. Charles got his usual puppy sitter haircut and it is growing in nicely. He still looks like a pup in his old age.

Flo bo and Charles were chilling together when Will went to pick them up and it seems as though they really bonded while we were gone. They have a real love hate relationship. Flo bo loves Charles, Charles hates Flo Bo. Sounds about right. He is tolerating her which I give him loads of credit for.

We dropped off our car at the mechanic, took back the rental, unpacked, hit the beach, and the girls rummaged through all their toys that they haven’t seen in a month. They have also been eating non stop which seems to be the case when we get home from travels lately. They really love their CR meals. I think they downed more than two teenage boys would in the past 3 days.

Of course they went straight to the dress up drawer, put on some music and got to performing.

This is Sabs belting LET IT GO

I can’t place who Sabs looks like most of the time (other than resembling her sis) but in this pic I see all my face as a toddler. I know the exact picture i am thinking of and I actually have it here in CR but have to look for it. It was during my salad bowl hair phase. But esp the eyes and lips.

CR fruits and veggies. Nom Nom Nom

Morning princess castle and play dough playing. Sabsy bedhead and nutty smile.

Here’s CHI CHI! Not being biased. Took pics of the animals as they were around. Will get pics of all of them equally. Sorry lulu belle…you’ve been hunting. Sorry Flo Bo you are too busy. Sorry Rusticio you

Back on the path

And ahhhh la playa! The girls were so happy to be back in the ocean. There is another black lab with us that is not Flo Bo. Her name is Maca. She is like 3 times Flo bo’s size so don’t be fooled thinking Flo is breaking some puppy size records.

San Jose Fun

Ah, it feels so good to wake up in San Jose (even if it was at 4:30 am with two little balls of energy). The sun is bright. The air is fresh. The people are happy and friendly. The mountains are topped with clouds, not snow. COSTA RICA!

Selfies while Dada is taking care of some internet things and Sabs is conked out. Me and my little nutball hanging and singing to the radio.

We hung out at the Multiplaza, played in the park, went to the farmers market, played frisbee, walked to the supermarket and just chilled for a few days in SJ. Next stop…the jungle (where the monkey above belongs).

The girls of course got soaking wet both days running in this fountain. Thankfully with CR weather they run a few laps and dry off in no time.

Mmmm… a big bag of organic strawberries. We also got a coconut that Sabs sat down and chugged in one sitting. This was a few days ago (we are now back in ST) and she has guzzled more coconuts than I can count. Girl be missing her jungle juice.

Travel Day: Heading back HOME!

Soo, the day has come and we have to leave for our flight at 5am. I told Will to wake me at 4am so I could have some coffee and time to get organized before we head out. He came in and woke me at 3:45 (i was sleeping in the room with the girls b/c this apt had 2 bdrms and biggest bed was full size). I told him to come back at 4am and he said nah wake up so we can have some time to chill and enjoy the quiet together before the day of travel ahead. Besides this is about the only time we can be sure no one is going to be awake bothering us…WRONG! This is who wandered into the livingroom at 4am on her own, and this is what she looks like at 4am. PS( the dress below used to be pink. I dyed an entire load of laundry blue with a cheap new shirt I bought – woops). Sophie said it is important to like different things so she likes her dress blue now and i should like my new blue shorts.

I then went off to wake and dress Sabs about 5 minutes before our car came. Of course this is one of maybe 5 nights the entire trip that she is sleeping like a rock in the morning. I was expecting total beast mode but surprisingly she smiled and said “SHOE” to let me know to put her shoes on b/c she is ready. Here they are at the airport in Rome around 6:30am.

First flight 2 1/2 hours to Madrid! Will and Sophie slept the entire time. Sabs slept 1/2 the time. I was wide awake :).

We had an hour layover in Madrid before catching next flight to CR. We had to hustle through the airport and ride a train to get to next terminal. We made it just as they were boarding with enough time to pee and hop on during last call. This is how we lug Sophie around the airport when in a rush. It’s fun, it’s efficient and we made our flight.

On to our 11 hour journey back to CR. Will slept for a majority of the flight and I would have woken him if the girls weren’t being so incredibly perfect. He didnt sleep at all the night before because he had to finish some work and with the time difference between California and Italy, sleep just didn’t happen. I watched two movies. Yes, that is more movies than i have watched all year (aside from a kid movie). The girls were so perfect that the people behind and across from us both kept commenting. I am so proud of them. Sabs was entertaining the people behind us with smiles and grabbing their faces. Sophie was watching movies and playing with Sabs. It was a crazy long flight and I am glad it is over. I think they both slept for a total of two hours.

Will catching flies.

We are all super happy to be back in CR. We landed at around 3pm, settled into our favorite hotel (who had chocolates and a note waiting for us on the bed) and all fell asleep at 6:30pm. The girls woke up at 1am and ate some leftover dinner that Will ordered while everyone was sleeping. They went back to bed for a few hours after that and at 7am we were all downstairs enjoying our first Tico meal at the hotel. They devoured full plates of rice and beans, fresh pineapple, bananas, and oooh it was all so good. Personally all our meals in CR have beat Italy so far. All breakfast I found myself saying OMG this is so good, ugh best pineapple ever, ooh these bananas, etc. Crazy to think we just arrived back from Italy. Food really does taste better here. Must be the sunshine :).
