Momma’s Epic 38th Birthday!

Wow it is going to be hard to top this year!!! First the girls and Ash surprised me with a massage by an incredible massage therapist who came to our house. Then Will surprised me with a boat trip to Tortuga Island on our neighbors private boat. Javier took us out there and stopped at so many amazing sights along the way. It seriously was a top 10 family day for us. We saw whales, dolphins, flying fish, hung out with a pig on the beach, swam in the middle of the ocean inside a mysterious spring of bubbles, ugh just too many memories to count.

In the middle of the day Sophie literally screamed out “I am so thankful to live here! This is the best day ever!”. She swam like a fish all over. Sabs was not a fan of the boat when it was moving…we think it reminded her of the ladybug ride from San Jose but she was a huge fan of the beach, pig, and dolphins. Man o man just so much fun!!!!!!

Will and Sophie made a surprise bag for me the night before my birthday. On the card it said to pick out one rock and that will be the next place we travel to…guess which rock Will wrote Peru on…yup the cement block. Sophie was so upset so of course when i woke up before her and picked the massive Peru block first (as Will intended), i lied and said I picked her “Curacao” rock. Yes, she is dying to back to Curacao. Im hoping we can find a place comparable so that we can see somewhere new but if not…no complaints here and Curacao it’ll be :).

The Full Moon tide pool is here!

This tide pool is only here right after full moon and this morning it was incredible! We all got out of the house at 830am to go for swim in our most favorite tide pool. The girls climbed rocks, swam with the doggies and played pretend restaurant with sand food and just plain had a blast. We had to rush home and rinse sophie off for school with Ash at 11am so it was a jam packed morning full of fun.

Sunset at Mal Pais beach, car stuck, futbol and horses!

Well this happened last night…drove up to the beach and down in a hole with a tree stump lodge under the car too. We must have really adapted bc we were all just like oh whoops. We got out assessed situation and WIll started to lodge logs under wheels to gain traction (unsuccessful since he didnt know there was a tree stump lodged underneath). A Tico family saw the situation and as usual came right over to help and sort it out. Will and another guy dislodged the stump and then the fun began. He tried to pull back a few times and the car died and then a loud roar as the last time was a success! Just another day in CR. Our car has been stuck so many times i’ve lost count. She’s still kicking (unfortunately for me) though i guess at this point the hunk a junk holds a place in my heart…the car and I have a very similar relationship to Will and Charles.

After that whole situation was done, the family asked Will to play futbol with them b/c they needed another team member. He had gone boogie boarding that morning and then we went running in the early afternoon, by sunset he was shot…after futbol he was about to pass out hahaha, but he hung on and even sophie got in the game :).
