Wahh it didnt come out in the photo but in between the trees down low was an enormous magical full moon!
This awesome guy who wouldnt look at my phone b/c he was too busy trying to catch the reflection it was making in the wet sand.
While walking in the mall with a hairy Dada he spotted a barber shop and decided to go in and get a shave and buzzed head so he didnt have to do it at home. The girls and I sat in a chair and watched as he had a warm cloth placed on his face, followed by little serum for his face, trim and ending with a cold towel wrapped around him. SOphie took pics and we were all quietly cracking up.
Sadly they did a crap job and he had to go home and shave his head all over again b/c it was uneven. Seeing him unhappy with a haircut is ahhh oh so rewarding. He has made fun of me on numerous occasions for spending money at the salon and coming home and redoing what they did so im not sure what was more fun…watching him get hot towels wrapped around his face or seeing him head straight home to fix his paid for style.
Wow we are all so happy to be home. I cant believe how different it feels and we didnt even leave the country! Ugh, i am up early right now, in boxer shorts and a sports bra, not freezing, doors wide open, no cars, no traffic noise,no tv… just green and birds and bugs and sweet ole rusty guarding his family!
The air feels so fresh and my mind feels calm. We showered under the stars, all slept in the big comfy bed and chucked french fries off the balcony for the animals to enjoy. The girls are super excited to for school today and Will and I are mega excited to get back to working out!
Yesterday before we caught the ferry back, we all went to the obstetrician b/c i had to get a little bump checked out. Turned out to be nothing but a lymph node that apparently was always there. WHile i was at it I got my pap and had the whole family there for the event. Sophie had primo seat right at the end of the stir ups and the dr explained to her all he was doing. Yup, took one for the team there yesterday. You’re welcome guys. Zero privacy with these peeps. Sabs standing there saying “i see your nin pin…i see your boobas:. Oh the life of a mom. At least all was good and healthy :).
Off to drink my favorite coffee which i couldnt find for a month. Yes hot coffee, no noise, no kiddos awake…must be my reward for the pap show yesterday ;).
Yesterday we drove up to Poas Volcano and had the most beautiful day! It was so refreshing to escape the city and be back in nature. The air was fresh, cows were everywhere, dogs roaming, horses, waterfalls, ugh just perfect. At one point in my life i thought i was a “city girl”…ummm no. For sure i am not and neither is this little family of mine. Sophie said “we should stay here next time. This feels like Costa Rica (she thinks the city is some other country here)”.
We had a little picnic on the side of the road with the most incredible views and fresh mountain air. Then we went to La Paz animal sanctuary and Waterfall garden followed by a yummy Tico style lunch and then if that all wasn’t enough we spotted a sloth on our drive home!! We pulled over and went to the tree and he was right by our head just eating some berries. Sophie and I were geeking out. Ugh what a cool day!! Feeling super thankful!
Yay, Dada and I are only 2 years apart now- wohooo…for about 2 weeks. He celebrated his bday by opening a business bank account here in CR and then out for a yummy lunch, playground time, home for cake and a movie :).
Dada i am so extremely proud of all that you have accomplished this past year. I know i say it every year, and really every year it is true so that says a lot about you. You are the worlds greatest father, husband, person, friend. I love you so much and feel so thankful to have you by my side through this amazing journey of life. What a killer year this was and cheers to many more! You are AWESOME!
We ended the year with a bang! Loads of fun with the arcade, bouncy house and painting in the mall. We got home about 6pm and I made broccoli soup for the kiddos and sweet potatoes, veggie stuff peppers, avocado/jalapeno salad for us. It was all super yum and we were in bed by 9pm watching Batman. Everyone conked out by 10:30pm and that was NYE in these parts ;). I woke up around 11:00 from fireworks and everyone was snoring right through them (thankfully). Cheers to 2017! Feeling thankful for this past year, blessed for a new year and just forever grateful for everything.
